| Well, you can since the FSN deal was a fixed term deal, bit naive to expect TNA to do wait till the deal expired before negotiating a better deal. Hence no point blowing the bigger angles early. Quote: |
Oh yeah, also, if you're bringing the character to a much bigger audience as you seem to say, how the f**k would he be stale to the MASSICE new audience even if they pushed him?
| I realise English is a major problem for most English people, but care to point out where I said he'd be stale to the audience?
The momey to be made with Monty Brown is in his chase for the belt. That whole angle would make the character and angle stale if run at too early a stage. Once run, it can't be run again.

| There? Unless we're talking about different things here. If TNA hopes to draw big, they'll have a lot of new fans, they could've done a trial run with Brown chasing the belt on FSN, then if it worked rehash it on Spike.

Uuuum, no.
Rehashing the angles NEVER works. Brown is intense, what you're advocating is to use that once, then run it again - can never recreate exactly the same intensity.
That's the key to good booking, right time, right place. Giving Brown the belt during FSN would have damaged the character. For a start, needs far more experience to work as a champion, and it may well be the case he doesn't draw as a champion - see Steamboat.

Oh, and PS, you didn't prove the case, nowhere did I mention the audience whatsoever. Characters can become stale to the people playing them, y'know, which is why soap returns never work.
Still, never mind, I realise being northern genetics are against you...

Don't you think rehashing would work with a different audience though? People still wanted to see nWo in WWE even though it had been done to death in WCW, if they'd done that right and the right people had been fit to work, it could well have worked.
Fair enough, we'll just have to disagree, I think part of the reason I'm still going at this is because I just don't really like the guy, and think TNA could have a better champion .

| Must...let....this...go.
Let's face it, there's not really much of a character for him to think has become stale is there.

But, but, but, WWE had the only members of NWO people gave a damn about, there was no way it could have worked.
Nash and Hall couldn't do the cute comedy routine which destroyed WCW, as heels should never be fun, and Rock destroyed them in promos to the point it didn't work.
You gotta realise with regards to Jarrett, that until a big deal like Spike came along, he is the one champion McMahon would never attempt to sign. Jarrett's nowhere near as bad a worker as people make out, TNA defences have been, by and large, pretty good.

| Yeah, but it's an emotional peak, isn't it? Playing the role, with that intensity, reaching the highest point, it's very very difficult to recreate that in a similar or better manner. it's like Goldberg in that Brown has to be portrayed as a destroyer. Once the illusion is gone...

....he moves to a new audience (Spike) like Golberg going to the WWE and does the same thing over again?
How the f**k we got to this I don't know, lets just say I don't like Monty and leave it at that.
