Guys, presuming it's game on, can we pool resources on cheap flights/trains, etc?
Well depending on how many people I end up taking with me I may or may not be able to take a couple of people down from Birmingham if there's room in the car.
AJ's just ****y because Michael Vick's Dog Fight Nights are going to get cancelled before he has a chance to bring his rottweiler down there to compete with the big boys.
Speaking of ****y, Donovan McNabb is doing his best to erode his Philly fan base by making defensive comments about the Eagles' choosing a QB with their first pick of the draft. A lot of people grumbled about McNabb when he let TO walk all over him, and he's done little since then to show that he has confidence in himself and isn't too sensitive to what people perceive about him.
While this may seem similar to the A Rod situation in baseball, the difference here is that no one on his own team is calling him out in public. McNabb is getting his undies in a bunch about talk radio yahoos and phantom criticisms, and the fact that he is actually wounded by this sort of thing is disturbing.
#5 doesn't have to defend himself against anybody, and should carry himself accordingly. The fact that he doesn't, and seems to think the fans are all against him, worries a lot of people.
Players don't rip their team's draft, especially if they're on a team that enters each season expecting to go deep in the playoffs. And besides, McNabb, of all people, should understand that the Eagles generally know what they're doing. He can't forget how everyone bitched about the pick that brought him to Philly over Ricky Williams, and we all know how smart that turned out to be. So he should stfu, say Kolb's gonna be great, and worry about himself. No one wants to see the QB being insecure and unsure of himself.
