Speculation saying that we're going to take Ben Patrick (TE) if he slides to us at 157. Would be a decent selection from what I've read on him, although he's not a modern TE in that he's big - Bubba Franks replica apparently. Just noticed we still haven't filled our CB hole.

Sure Quinn would put up 5 TDs and 350 yards against the likes of Stanford, but he did absolutely nothing against decent teams.

As for the Lie-downs, I have mixed emotions. CJ probably the best talent in this draft. OTOH, Lions have so many needs elsewhere.

Haven't read pages 7 or 8 yet, but they packaged Mike Williams and Josh McCown to Oakland for a 4th rounder.

Instead we chose another WR in David Clowney who was apparently the #11 WR in the draft and should have gone in the third, a bit of a steel I hear. Could get interesting for us now as well because we've got 3 consecutive picks in the 6th round.

Wasted the three picks in my opinion, got TWO linebackers and a kicker. Can't argue with one linebacker and the kicker, but we desperately need a TE and a CB. People like Ben Patrick (who has admittedly slipped big time but is still a decent player) was there at TE and David Irons was there for a CB.

Ted Thompson completely cocked this draft up and I'm very disappointed. The first draft where I've been aware of who's in it and what actually happens and so on, and it's been a total flop on our part. I'd like to give these kids a chance and show us what they're made of, but I can't see it being anything particularly great as a team this year.
