It seems all the PES games do now is tweak the AI abit every new game. Its getting more and more like Fifa regarding little improvement over the previous version.

I just read the linked article. To be fair, if the changes they're talking about affect the AI players on your team as well as the computerised opposition, then it'll address many of the game's most glaring flaws. If they're getting the AI to keep tabs on the overall tactical shape of the game, it bodes well for ironing out a lot of the one-dimensional boll0x you get online.
Delighted to see they've developed free kicks a bit. It's a joke when you win a free kick at the moment, unless there's a shot on. If you're reasonably central, particularly - the game's inviting you to put a cross in, but there's absolutely nobody in and around the box, and all you can do is either pass it short or forlornly dink the ball towards the edge of the box, where it'll be cleared, collected by the keeper, or headed softly into the air.

I though if you held L1 on PES6 when running with the ball, players near to you would make a run, then let go and press Triangle or X?
Or am I just imagining it?

i'd LOVE it if they could finally sort out the AI so fullbacks overlap. infuriating atm when your winger's got the ball, the fullback just hangs back and you have to retreat and try and almost manipulate the fullback into making an overlapping run

they'd better sort out the way that sometimes when i try and connect to people online it says no connection, and then on a second attempt it's a perfect connection.
and i generally concur with all of ceefax's whinging about the pathetic online tactics, total farce

| Can't remember a football game I've played where its not been like that. Same with corners, all games seem to have 4 players from each team in the box when there really should be a few more.
