completely unrelated but i scored a goal online yesterday with a player who was standing about 10 yards offside next to the goalkeeper. i'd never seen anything but the strictest compliance to the offside rules from the in-game ai before so it was quite surprising. anyone else seen anything like that?

Yeah you're right if you press L1 and x together when passing to a team-mate the man that instigated the pass then makes a run forward, well most of the time he does anyway.

Also if you alter certain players defensive mentality to low and give him a forward arrow they should be more willing to bomb forward and get into good attacking positions.

I just had a 3-0 defeat online to a French person. Scored all of his goals in the laggy 1st half, each followed by "hi hi hi hi hi hi hi hi hi hi hi hi" and what I assume were insults in French. Then defended his way through the second. It's a strange feeling - I'm sitting there quite detached from it, thinking "yes, whatever, let's just play" but my body doesn't believe a word of it. I'm in fight or flight mode now and I feel like I could punch through the wall.

it's for that reason that i hate the tiny message size limit for the chat system. it means that when i'm almost swallowing my tongue with indignation i cannot eloquently explain my views to whatever gloating portuguese kid i am playing. plus they probably wouldn't understand my concerns anyway. futile.

i've taken to swallowing my pride and just writing 'Nice goal' or something whilst quietly simmering.

I know the feeling well, very annoying.

For me it's not the fact they are taunting me that is most annoying, it's the fact that they get their enjoyment taunting random people while playing a computer game, I mean wtf is that about?

Yes, it's the fact that you can't make them see how disgusting they are, so you're forced to accept the fact that they're getting off on their childish abuse. If only I could send a few messages back, it might start to become half-enjoyable.

I do that. <- and -> arrows on the fullbacks with medium defensiveness. They overlap loads

The PES series is going the same way as the FIFA series, they arent fixing the faults in teh game, just adding nice little features.

One of the most over-rated games series ever IMO.

FIFA Road to the World Cup 98 all the way.
