Default animation in pse

I am using PSE and am trying to animate my banner. I've figured out how to do it, but it is animating all my layers, and I don't want my layer 1 or background to be animated. Any ideas? thanks

ps my site is www.batteriesnotrequired.com

Default animation in pse

Hello samandsophie and welcome to the forums. Unfortunately I'm not familiar with PSE but in PSCS you would be using ImageReady. There you would have a layers palette, and an animation palette. For each frame in the animation palette, you would use the visibility eyeball next to each layer and turn on/off layers which you wished to see in each particular frame.

If you just want to not use the background layer at all, why not trash it?

I'm not familiar with the newest version of Elements either.

I think you'll be able to find an animation tute for it on Adobe's tutorial site (Expert Center) though. At least, i think i saw one awhile ago. Check it out.
