Mine or eric's?
If you mean mine then tell me why influencing Arsenal's attack game after game propelling them into their best ever PL start isn't a good reason? Or don't you think Fabregas has been that influential?
Also, plenty of players have played good CL finals without influencing their team's domestic season/league, which at the root of it all is the most important trophy for any club.
He hasn't "basically carried he team to where it is at the moment." That simply isn't true. As mentioned he's had a good season but had some very quiet games too.

Who has been more vital to the team and its creativity than him then? Every player has an off day ffs. Fabregas has had very few of them.
We'll just have to agree to disagree there, Asmo. Hleb has been great, but has he got the goals as well as the assists Cesc has had? That weighs it in Cesc's favour imo.

His goals and assists would field a strong case against that, but it is a matter of opinion, and I may have used slightly too strong a word in "carry". Hleb has played very well, but Cesc has been instrumental while also contributing vital goals.

gerrard has done, and continues to do both obv making him a more complete and influential (if admittedly, less talented) midfielder than both :*)

Was being tongue-in-cheek there really, you set it up so nicely for me. Cesc/Hleb, tough to call probably the former overall so you're right there.
I don't think you can cite Arsenal's decent start as a reason for Cesc being better than Iniesta- far too many other factors involved.
