With small stakes poker, the standard is generally terrible wherever I've played.

I'm still learning the game somewhat but have something like a 45% win ratio on 10 seat tables and 55% on 5 seat tables ($5 buy ins), not taking into account 2nd/3rd's. I'm sure if you're even 'competent' you'll be profitable in small stakes poker. I struggle a bit more on the cash tables due to the stupid amount of players' who'll call preflop raises and outdraw me. Need to learn a better way to play the cash tables I think.

Also, congratulations George, I could be doing with a similar boost to my bankroll.

Moreclaw, you're ability doesn't really improve when playing freerolls. You start improving when you are actually playing for real money.

I'm not playing freerolls, i'm playing with BBP's - ok, not real money, but it's a step up from what I was playing. Soon i'll start playing bigger BBP buy ins and then who knows, I may go inot playing with money.

BBP and freeroll tournys are just the same as you don't have to pay money to enter either.

BBP tournaments teach you to be tight.

Yeah whoopdee doo. Tightness is obviously good but it only goes so far....having said that I spent about 3 months on the BBP scene before graduating to real money....so it's probably a good way of learning. :thup:

I probably spent 4 months on the BBP scene before winning money to play for real cash.

However, I don't really agree that it teaches you to play tight. My game improved once I was protecting my money.

Just stick $100 in, you'll learn more and it may motivate you to play your A game.

If you dont want to lose money then you have the wrong hobby take up snap.
