WOW...i can't believe it... our sports channel, TVSport is showing poker on tv...texas hold'em at that... too bad the commentators are commenting for idiots who have no clue...they're explaining what "all in" is.

got a hand that's bugging me and I'm slightly bothered at my play on the turn.

I'm early position with AK with about 900 chips (starting at 1000) and raise it up to 80 from the original blinds of 10/20. I get one caller from on or near the button whose stack slightly covers mine. Blinds fold.

Flop comes Q Q x (rainbow)

I bet out 120. He calls.

Turn K

I bet out 200, he raises me all-in, I call and he shows Q4. My two outs miss.

Am I being hard on myself or was my turn play awful. I can't think of too much he'd call with on the flop where the turn card would have made my hand better than his, and certainly nothing he'd raise me all-in on where my kings would hold up. Really, he was always going to have AA, KK, KQ, QJ or QT. A middle pair may get the first call, but never the all-in raise

Still, a minor setback on the road to $200

Never underestimate the power of stupidity I don't like your first turn bet either but the call of the all-in was a bit optimistic

Turn bet depends on how big a moron your opponent is.

I don't make that all-in call though.
