Anyone recieved the news of the $1m tourney on Pacific poker? Almost makes me fancy depositing there again, it won't exactly be the most difficult tourney to cash in.

Its in 6 weeks time. Theres multis and sngs into the tourney, or for the hi rollers amongst us (I guess no-one) you can buy in for $400 + $40.

I'll mostly be playing the $20 or $40 sngs and the $10 multis.

I know people didn't want to hear about bad beats, but here's a little story:

Haven't played much poker at all in recent weeks, and right now I decide to play a $10 SnG at Stars. I sit down and start in the SB and look down at ... AhAd. Wow. Pretty decent hand to comeback with eh? Blinds are $10/$20 (Starting stack is 1500) and four people call. I raise it to $80 with two callers (BB+1 and the button). Flop comes 48T rainbow and I check, intending to check-raise. BB+1 raises rather big, button folds, and I reraise thinking that he's probably hit top pair (AT maybe) or a straight draw. Or possibly trip 4s or 8s... but I decided to take that risk. He then reraises me all in... that'd normally ring some warning bells but considering the standard of play there and the fact that I'm not really in shape I called. He turns over T4o and I'm out.

Note that I'm not berating his play, stating that I played it great or that the RNG is crooked And AA does lose quite often. So not your usual bad beat story. Back to the table now... will play the PSO NLHE championship event at 9 (8 GMT) I think.

with 4 callers before you on stars, I'm not raising your standard 4 BB raise, I'm most probably doubling it at least, even then, that guy may still call. Thats the standard of stars sngs until you get above $20

Played another one and went out early on with my AQs flopping top pair on a Qxx rainbow board, losing to KK. A bit more obvious what he had that time tho.

/heads back to PSO for a while.

I'm convinced there's at least one person on every Omaha table that doesn't know the rules. 5 times today someone has asked why they didn't have a full house or something similar..

Reminds me that I haven't played the $10 Omaha STTs on Ladbrokes for a while. You can guarantee that the last two people sitting down have rushed in because they saw a nearly-full table and don't realise that it's Omaha until the cards are dealt...
