New thread ey. I remember the birth of the old thread when poker was a game for oldies I thought.

Im probably still not much better than I was back then since I never get chance to play. I like to keep a few quid in BlueSQ account so i can play the .5/.10 games. Plus everyone there seems to be as bad as me. Think I'll go now actually.

I had a quality game earlier:

For the first portion I was winning slightly (a free role game, start with 2000), then one of the players got a massive win and was up to 11000. Kept gringing out results and it was me vs this other guy in the last 2. He had about 15000 to my 5000. The game went back and forth for about 15 minutes, niether managing to deal a fatal blow. Then the stakes get upped considerably and with a full house I win 7000 off him :cool: so we're about even at this point. After a couple more minor skirmishes he goes all in. I'be got a 3 of diamonds and a Queen of diamonds, so I think "f*ck it, ill go for it". At this point, there were none of the table cards delt, just our own 2 (he had a 2 and an ace of some description. So the first 3 cards are delt, a 3, a king and a 5 (iirc) so I take first blook by getting a pair of 3's. Next card delt: no use to anyone, final card delt: a 2. So with everything in the pot, I win with a pair of 3's against his pair of 2's

What do you look for when selecting a cash table?

For me, I'm looking for one where 50% of people or more see the flop. Under 40% and I'm not sitting down. Too much like hard work. It's great if the average pot size is high too. It's great seeing a table full of people willing to call down with anything.

I just love tables where 70% see the flop...average pot 8bb+ = I am in heaven.

I do occasionally deliberately seek out a 30% table to test my skills against players who have a clue, but not usually.

Oh, and a less obvious one. People who don't take enough money to the table, like the folk that sit down with me at a 3/6 table with $40. What are they thinking? I always sit down with 100xbb

I just make sure I have over 12bb in front of me.

Usually sit down with 20bb and reload habitually with random amounts so that I can't keep track of whether I'm up or down for that particular session.
