In better news more good results on the Cambridge poker tour. Tonight was a £10 freezeout, 10 player top 3 play. Nothing massively amazing for most of the tourney, hit a flush out of the bb and doubled up. Also an all in bluff on the flop with A7 forced another player off AK which was sweet. Ended up heads up with a tight player who I could read like a book, 'if he bets fold'. Still i was having a right laugh raising 2xbb, he calls, we see flop, I bet 2/3 pot, he folds. In short I completely destroyed him. I got him down from 1:1 to 1:3 in my favour. Anyway he's short stacked. I hit top pair with K7 and go all in, he calls and flips up Ak.

Back to square one, with him slightly outchipping me. No problem, rinse repeat the raise process and soon we're back to 2:1 in my favour. I raise him about half his stack and he puts the rest in. I look at my cards and have A2 suited. I thought for a while but in the end I decided he was fed up enough to me making this play with two face cards so I called. He has K10 so I'm favourate but he sucks out.

Ok so now I'm 1:2 down. He raises preflop which means big cards. I have 72 suited and call because 1. I know what he holds and 2. You can't let people take your blind for a min raise. Flop falls 7 9 Q with two spades giving me bottom pair and a flush draw. I push and pray he doesn't have AQ or KQ, he calls and turns up AK. I have him drawing to 4 outs (AsKs giving me the flush) but sadly the A of diamonds sends me out second.

Great game though and the best I've played heads up in a long long time. Shame it ended the wrong way but I'm on a tear right now so I'm not complaining.

hey hey... back after my 30-odd page absence (and the starting of a whole new thread)

Hope everyone's game is going well, for my part i've been playing mostly live tournaments in Liverpool lately - and despite the ultra-crappy structure, been getting some decent results, a few wins, and plenty of final table placings (including a £2500 win in the biggest tourney i've played there :thup.

finally last week decided to start trying to build a proper online bankroll (have avoided online until now - except freerolls - on the general principal that i wasn't nearly as good at it as liveplay) and was met with a pleasant surprise.

So, Tuesday I invested $100 and sat on a $0.50/$1 table.... within an hour and a half, I was up to $220. Have played about 2-3hrs a night since then, and bankroll currently stands at $780 :thup: not too bad for my first proper go at playing online.

so far, i've only played on Ladbroke's - anyone got any recommendations for other good (better?) sites to have a go at? cheers :thup:

I fell asleep with the TV SNG show on last night. Woke up randomly at about 3am. Saw SerpicoPSO reraise all-in with a pair of sixes and dule get called by jacks. Fell straight back to sleep. :thup:
