He's EU. Barring him from working where he's wanted and where he wants to is illegal if done on grounds of his nationality, and football's going to have to get with the programme soon.
Playing for a national select XI isn't his job, and no-ones restricting which club he plays for.

But they are restricting which national team he plays for. The national team is run by a company, the FA, no?

It is, but he's not being barred from working if he's not playing for them.

I just find it hard to envisage a situation where someone would rather play for a random country that they've lived in for a while, than their true nationality
Because wanting to play for the country where you chose to live over the one that you were born into without a say is crazy!

No you're right, players should choose who they want to play for internationally, then we could have an England side featuring the next Fabregas and Italy having the next Shevchenko, and myabe countries could transfer players too? we could set up a league system and everything!
Because winning at any cost is everything

Yeah cos thats where I was going with that clearly, well done on not getting that some people chose to make their own decisions about what country they like most rather than just shouting 'patriotism! passion!'

i'd be suprised if foster made it at man united or england tbh.
It's early obviously, and he's a stage behind the likes of Carson and Green right now, but i do think he's very talented. Could end up back at Watford for his whole career though as you say.

OTF's obsession with passion is actually pathetic. I
t's about the fact it's an international competition. Pitting the best English players against the best French players, Spanish players and so on. Not pitting the best English players plus a few that have lived here for a little while and aren't good enough to play for their real country so decide to play for a lesser country against the best Spanish players.

Obviously. I'll try again - "But if he wants to, and they want him to - then he's being barred." Yes?
