Even funnier is it's clearly Sony, as Virtua Fighter 5 doesnt have the same restrictions on delivery for the 360 version.

I'd hazard a guess that the reaons they can't currently ship to the EU is that the machine itself is not avialable, but it is in the US. By allowing them to ship games to the EU it would be actively encouraging early imports.
If i were to put money on it, I'd say the restrictions will be relaxed once the unit itself is available here.
That's just putting on my "let's look at this objectively and not automatically assume Sony are evil" hat though, so who knows?

Well it would be a bit remiss of them to try and stop the machine being imported but allowed the games to come over here. You can just imagine mongs cueing up to go "OMG WTF that makes no sense Sony, what a bad mistake they should all be shot".
Or similar.
