Marketing people are evil. Take them out of the equation and the PS3 would be 2p cheaper or something.
It's just business at the end of the day. Not really an excuse, but as you say, they all do it. It's why I was laughing at that guy's "arrogant" comments on the forum linked above. As if only Sony were the only company to display arrogance. I mean, Nintendo have basically spent the last decade shouting "Europe Sucks", yet we all love 'em.

| They've gone down the microsoft route of leaving it up to the Publishers to decide.

| meh, using Bush as a symbol of Americans' stupidity is so silly Herman, I expected better of you.
to many, they didn't give a whit that Bush was inarticulate and not an intellectual. instead, they were ideological Republicans, in support of the man's economic policy, reticent to change leadership in the time of war (which is a well-founded concern that the Bush administration manipulated, wp), or just didn't like Kerry.

well for me where Sony have gone wrong is trying to deceive the public, yeah sure, some of the gaming public ARE stupid, but tbf, a lot of us aren't, i know full well the reason they haven't got the rumble in the controller, is because they lost the court case, and not for any other reason.
