Backwards compatibility has been a problem for Microsoft and the Xbox 360, and it appears it will be causing Sony some headaches too. Now that the next-gen console is out there in the hands of the gaming public (launched in Japan on November 11), people have begun to report on problems with backwards compatibility.
In fact, because the system will not play all PS2 and PSone titles, Sony has set up a backwards compatibility checker website, on which you can search for titles and check if they work as they should. Hardware incompatibility means that the PS3 does not support PS2 peripherals such as the multitap, and titles which required a hard drive are also not compatible.
Other problems include Gran Turismo 4 freezing and sound issues with Tekken 5. Sony has already made fixes for titles including Ace Combat 5, and expect more fixes to be released as new problems are discovered.

Always going to be teething problems. At least they are working on fixes for them.

My brother works at Best Buy in Vancouver.
He said the first couple guys in line yesterday were homeless guys. They were hoping to sell their spot in line.

Rep Power: 40 | So many fake bids. Even the ones not cancelled by eBay. Flip your console anywhere BUT eBay.

| On the news here they were interviewing people in the line and after they'd bought a PS3.
They got one guy who'd been queued up for well over a day and he was saying how tired and exhausted he was, but that it was worth it to finally get one.
Interviewer asks him if he's looking forward to getting home to play on it and the guy gave this totally confused look and said "I'm not going to play it, i'm selling it on eBay"
Just about everybody they asked said pretty much the samething, they were all just going home to stick it on eBay.

Just picked up Official PlayStation Magazine and it looks quality. Will definitely be getting my hands on one. Sooner rather than later IMA.
Can't weight, but won't need to save much as the second instalment of my student loan comes in January!
Although the PlayStation shop thing looks a bit naff. Buying cars to race on GT:HD, just a cheep money making scam ffs.
