*Official* Ricky Hatton vs Floyd Mayweather Junior - December 8th - Las Vegas - Live on Pay Per View Post #54
Everyone randomly spouting that Mayweather is gonna win this easily are really very uneducated boxing fans..
The biggest concern with hatton seems to be that he is fighting at welterweight.. What people forget is he was given only 5 weeks to prepare for that weight class last time.. This time hes had 14 weeks! He looks in the best shape of his life..
Floyds last 3 fights have been far from his best.. Whereas hatton produced a devestating body punch to floor a mexican! Mexicans, least of all castillo, rarely lose in this manner.. they are normally the ones dishing out the body blows..
This isn't gonna be an easy win for any fighter.. The ref is Joe Cortez, which Hattons camp are very pleased about, as he appreciates boxing on the inside is indeed an art, equal to that of Floyds speed..
Hattons best chance lies in the opening 6 rounds.. Floyds best chance probably on points, or picking of hatton late on..
My moneys on Hatton.. Two evenly matched boxers, just got a feeling hatton wants it more..

You're right that Mayweather wasn't quite at his best against De La Hoya, but he wasn't forced to get out of 2nd gear for most of it. His previous two bouts were routs of Baldomir and Judah, against Baldomir he won every round on two of the judges scorecards.
Castillo has had trouble with rib injuries throughout his career, breaking them was nothing new at all to him.
The ref has no real bearing on this fight, he's not judging it.
Mayweather is going to do his version of rope a dope. Defend and cover up for the first 4-5 rounds, then come back into it and boss the fight when Hatton's knackered. He's going to win on points, in the region of 116-112 imo.
I want Hatton to win so badly, its just not going to happen.

As much as it pains me to say it, I think this one's going to Mayweather, his defensive boxing is going to be like nothing Ricky has faced, and I'm not sure Hatton will be able to cope with that and break him down, I hope I'm wrong though.
