Its a take on The Rolling Stones "Da Doo Ron Ron" and it was one of the ones that I heard for him yeah. Whether it became widespread or not I don't know. Trust me I'm not creative enough to come up with something like that.

46/100. </BLOCKQUOTE>

The Stones? I don't know if they covered it, but i'm sure they didn't do the original, as it was a female vocal.

Villa fans don't seem to rate him either.

Last year season (2005/06) when he played quite a bit (because Neville was injured iirc) I seem to remeber there were some posative remarks about him on here.

What has happened in only 1 year for the sudden change? He's only 21.
I get he will never be top 4 team quality, but I thought he could be Prem quality, now by your (and Villa fans) remakrs I'm not sure on that either
Firstly, it's quite conceivable to look reasonbly impressive in a few games as back up, and even then i don't remember anyone being much stronger than saying he had a chance. Then obviously the real test comes when you play week in week out, and it seems like not only has he failed that test at both Rangers and Villa, there have been big question marks over his attitude. reports of a Richardson like "i've made it, do you know who i am?" kind of attitude around manchester, and of course the big bust up with Le Guen at Rangers.

because not everyone fulfils their early promise? not a hard one, his time covering neville was probably a purple patch, rather than being what he can do consistently

He looked pretty decent for his opening two or three games with us and then just seemed to go backwards from then. He didn't seem to have the mentality to be able to string together a number of good performances and seemed to lose his concentration at times in games.

He wasn't good enough for us, obviously is no-where near good enough for Utd and would be surprised if he moves to another club in the Premiership. Probably the Championship's more his level.

For me he stepped in well, didn't let himself or the team down, but didn't really have that spark or whatever that would see him take over from Gary in the medium/long-term.

He didn't have the best of times at Rangers with Le Guen either and whenever I saw him play for Villa he came across as very solid and unspectacular but nothing more really. There were question marks about his attitude generally iirc as well.

Like you say Fran he's 21 so he's got time but the reports on attitude and quality that have been attached to Pique and Evans, as well as the presence of Wes and JOS means that I don't see him getting a shot ahead of Gary any time soon.

I think he can be a Premiership full-back but I think he may be one of those players who suffers from the lack of security being shifted out on loan gives them. If he was given a permanent transfer to one of the clubs he's been linked to like Everton, where he's got a more realistic shot at impressing on a regular basis and establishing himself then he could do alright IMO.

Right so it's just that fact. Thanks
I didn't know if perhaps I was remembering things wrong, and even when he was playing instead of Neville you were saying he was crap, he had a long term injury, Villa fans were being overly-critical etc etc

Yeah you're right, it was originally "The Crystals" in 1963 apparently. To be fair I've only heard male vocals attached to that song and its original release is WAY before my time.

The Stones version thats out there is a bootlegged recording or cover of some description. Apparently there's a Dylan one as well.

he did his job for us well enough, but he was never truely tested so we never found out how good he was, a bit like Spector, who I must say impressed a lot more when he had a run of 5/6 games in our first team, esp as he was out of position.

That Spector comparison isn't a bad one tbh ec7. I was more impressed with him as well.
