Hi I,m requesting some info regarding potential and current ability, i,m currently using the mini scout version 1.3 with the final patch and i,m just wondering how high the potential of regen players has to be to make them future world beaters, i compared some of my regens to the potential of current world-class players and came to the conclusion that a young player with the potential of 180 and above has got the potential to become say the new ronaldinho or cristiano ronaldo is this correct or am i missing something?
You are correct. The higher a PA the better a player can "potentially" become.
Highest PA is 199 or 200 (200 I think).
The CA is how good the player is at the moment, it is a reflection of all his current stats, with some stats being worth more than others.
There is no guarantee that a player with a very high PA will reach his potential, lack of matches, incorrect training and too many injuries can all stop a player reaching his PA.
I always consider players with 170+ PA to be really great players.
However, a player with 150 CA can be an excellent player if those 150 are put in all the right places for his position... also, several of the world's great, aging players have CA with even less of 150. i.e. Nedved in my game has 134 CA, and still holds an average of over 7.30.
This is where I find Genie Scout handy. It has a percentage of the players ability devided into positions.
Let's say 2 strikers have an CA of 150. One of them is rated at 69% at the ST position while the other is rated at 63%. That's because the first one has higher attributes of those attributes that are important for a striker than the second one.
CA is a guide, but not a sure way of seeing talent.
