Default High or Lower league teams are best?

Just finished half a season Everton and after kicking arse in the friendlies i won one game against derby and thats it. I know! it Everton but i should at least win some more games. If i start at a lower league team is it easier to play the game. I played FM 07 and had a similar problem, poo with chelsea but got tranmere into europe. I am not a noob just irate at playing for hours and not getting anywhere. Cheers

to be honest if you find the right tactics etc you could easily win the league with everton first season with maybe 1 or 2 signings. I prefer lower league management but when i do venture into a premiership game i always go Everton.
