Looks like my first battle is to find a scout as I don't have one, put an ad out, nobody applies all season! At least I have an ass man who tells me i need to heavily strengthen! What does he know! Start with what I have, already overspending on wages and nobody wanting any of my players, at all, for free. Season never really started, no runs to speak of. End up in 8th position.
| The Belgian transfer rules make that first season tougher than it needs to be. Everyone is on an amateur contract and you dont have the wage bill to prevent your better players from being poached in pre-season, and then from October onwards you cant sign anyone without breaking the bank.

So I started declaring interest in EVERYTHING on my home screen (about 30 under pressure managers at one point) and got literally laughed off every time! I decided to go on holiday for ten years (having only been playing since FM 07 I never tried this before).
Came back all tanned and beautiful and still could not get a job! So with a heavy heart I have decided to scrap this save. Now I plan to start a new game with a five year holiday then take it from there.
Just a quick question. What is the preferred etiquette for updates when you start on holiday? Do you come back from holiday, get a job, then play three seasons or do you just crack on straight away if you get offered work?

If it's only a one season holiday then I've noticed the holiday season counts as one of the three. However I would guess if you holiday for five years as planned starting the update after you have managed for three seasons would be best IMO.

No, Barside, it doesn't count as one of the three season. The rule is basically after three seasons of managing, you can post a thread. So, if you holiday one season, we'll see you on your forth. If you holiday five, we'll see you on your eighth. :thup:
