Default Only one team in Essex.....

All European leagues (Most playable – too many for me to be bothered to list) plus Argentina & Brazil.
2006/07

As my first & probably final foray into LLM before 2008 is released decided to play it safe & stay in England so moved down the A120 to Braintree, first thought was **** what have I done these guys are carp.

Media Prediction 14th
Expectations; Mid table safety (The board obviously has a sense of humour, give me no money)

Long - short. Cleared out backroom; new physio, scout, youth coach, keeping coach & player/assman (love a 2-1 deal). Won first game 4-2 against Welling (this is easy), then lost the next 11 with embarrassing fa cup 2nd qual rd exit, shipping a ton of goals & can’t hit farm building from a yard, tinkering with tactics & players that would shame a former London based Italian manager, looks like nailed on relegation. Decided to bring in a whole new defence in January on permanent deals & travel down the A12 to find an AMR & ST on loan. New defence is brilliant & draws media plaudits, loanees bring a new level of consistency & I finally get my tactics sorted. 9 wins in last 10 games seals safety & a new 3 year contract (no pay rise the tight gits)

End of season report;
Finished 16th, W 15, D 5, L 22, GF 71, GA 70, Pts 50

Lows; 7-2 home defeat against Eastleigh & 3-1 home defeat to Kings Lynn. Highs; Double against Sutton & 8 wins in a row (league record).

Conference National: Promoted - Aldershot & Kidderminster. Relegated - Tamworth, D&R, Gravesend & St Albans
Conference North: Promoted – Kettering & Lancaster. Relegated –Barrow, Farsley & Worksop
Conference South: Promoted – Sutton & Welling. Relegated – Thurrock, Bedford & Bognor
FA Trophy: Dagenham & Redbridge

Colchester survive (up the U’s), Rangers win SPL by 19 Pts & cheating old lady stay’s in Serie B

2007/08

Media Prediction 17th
Expectations; Fight bravely against relegation

Any thoughts of building on previous years form are dashed by the pre-season fixtures, 7 straight defeats & no goals, the board’s expectations seem accurate. Send 16 players on their way & bring in 7 free transfers over the first few months of the season, 20 year old Nigerian striker proves to be a sublime player, DM has Suffolk club sniffing around & my 20 year old 6’7” keeper is finally delivering on his early promise helping the club end the season with the 3rd best defence record. Until December my season could go in either direction as I can’t seem to find a strong partnership up front, unable to bring in any loanees as my MC/AssMan has signed all of the youth team on stupid 3 year deals means I can’t release potential rubbish to free up space on the wage budget.. Things then start to click between with my Nigerian & Ghanaian strikers bagging a 30 goal partnership in final 5 months.

To everyone’s surprise we make the play-offs with a game to spare however all joy is tempered by being drawn against Fisher (they are 4 for 4 against me), despite serious pre match nerves we produce a scintillating 1st half display & take a 3-0 lead back to Cressing Road which is converted to a 3-1agg win. I do lose my ML after his vicious elbow to their DR (Play-off final must have clashed with his wife’s summer holiday plans). The final with Gravesend proves to be a tense affair, an early goal from our captain is cancelled out late on, it’s extra time & our superior fitness pays dividends (convincing most of the squad to quit their day jobs was inspired), the winner comes just before half time followed by 15 minutes of blatant time wasting.
Spare a thought for poor Gravesend, they only missed out on automatic promotion on the last day of the season & finished a massive 18 points ahead of us, the fact this will no doubt happen to me in the future makes me feel somewhat better.

Almost forgot, my AssMan pays the price for his inability to negotiate contracts & is demoted to coaching duties only after I decide to promote a new AssMan – That’ll teach him.

End of season report;
Finished 4th, W 19, D 13, L 10, GF 66, GA 44, Pts 70

Conference National: Promoted – Stevenage & Halifax. Relegated – Welling, Stafford, Crawley & Altringham
Conference North: Promoted – Hinckley & Guisley. Relegated –Alfreton, Vauxhall & Redditch
Conference South: Promoted – Dagenham & Redbridge. Relegated – Histon, Eastbourne Boro & Cambridge City
FA Trophy: Grays

Chelsea suffer defeat in Champions cup final again, Rangers retains SPL, Colchester relegated along with Ipswich & finally Italy wins Euro 2008 with a 1-0 last minute win over England.

Media Prediction 24th
Expectations; Fight bravely against relegation

One word can describe the season; inconsistency, the board are still being tight with the wage budget so out go 25 deadwood players & in come a meagre 6. Despite pre-season expectations our home form keeps us in mid table safety until Valentine’s day, a league record 6-0 gubbing of Aldershot proves to be the only real highlight of any otherwise dull but safe 1st season so far.

Everything then starts to fall apart, some players seem to be watching too much WWE & 3 of them have lengthy bans for head butting Injuries decimate the squad & for the final quarter of the season I lose my lethal strike partnership most notable my 29 year old Ghanaian with a broken leg. In our final 14 games we can only muster 8 goals & 9 points, another league record (tied this time) for most consecutive games without scoring at 5, we only just miss out on the outright record thanks to a dubious penalty decision in a 1-1 draw to already relegated Guisley. Safety is assured with just 2 games left (a goalless draw of course does the job). I can only hope we don’t carry this form over to next season & that the board finally decide to go professional.

End of season report;
Finished 18th, W 12, D 16, L 18, GF 59, GA 61, Pts 52

League Two: Promoted – Cheltenham, Bournemouth, Barnet & Oldham. Relegated – Hereford & Halifax.
Conference National: Promoted – Shrewsbury & Oxford. Relegated – Hinckley, Burton, Lancaster & Guisley.
Conference North: Promoted – Stalybridge & Nuneaton. Relegated – Altringham, Workington & Marine.
Conference South: Promoted – AFC Wimbledon & Hayes. Relegated – Fisher, Yeading & Slough.
FA Trophy: Cambridge United

Newcastle shop like a chav lotto winner; 21 players signed after they qualify for ECC which is money well spent as they go on to finish 15th in EPL, Rangers Retain the SPL (I promise this is the last time I mention them), League 1 Norwich are in Europe after FA Cup Final defeat & Chelsea finally win the Champions cup

For a person with poor literary skills it would seem I had alot to say for myself. As I said I will try to be more concise in the future, next season will probably only need one word anyway....Relegated.

2009/10 Conference National

Expectations: Fight Bravely
Media: 16th

Another year in the conference national & more of the same, inconsistant form see's me neither threaten promotion or relegation. 17 players see the exit sign with 4 good prospects brought in. I also lose both scounts & AssMan to league teams. One word - DULL.

League: 11th 17W 11D 18L -1GD 62pts
Cups: First Round defeats in both

Elsewhere: Gretna finish 2nd in SPL behind Rangers & A Welsh Premiership club reach the FA cup final.

2010 World cup: Brazil beat Paraguay in the final, England of course lose in Q/F & still no sign of Scotland.

2010/11 Conference National

Expectaions: Mid table Safety; someone's getting confident!
Media: 9th

I bring out the broom this year, out go 16 old timers & useless youngsters, my teenage DM sensation is sold for 300K. In come 7 youngsters including a 15 yr old ST from lower leagues & an experienced ST. I also lose another AssMan & scout . The season starts off well & I find myself in amongst the leaders come the new year. The wheels then fall off when injuries blight the squad, I lose all my strikers & 3 midfielders for most of whats left & my season finishes in a whimper. The one bright note is the young ST scoring 14 goals & looking v.good.

League: 6th 20W 16D 10D +23GD 76Pts
Cups: More 1st Rd Woes

Elsewhere: Mexico beat Brazil in Copa America final, Celtic again fail to finish in the top 2, Liverpool finally win the League & L1 Stoke reach FA cup Final.

2001/12 Conference National

Expectaions: Mid table safety
Media: 11th (?)

I let a few deadwood youngest go & only bring in 3 players all under 20. The season gets of to a flyer winning first 7 league games. I'm top by the end of September & never relinquish my hold. The now 16yr old striker bags 23 goals with 11 assists & is drawing interest from top English & Scottish clubs, in fact the only outfield players that don't score are my fullbacks . Promotion is secured in style with a 7-0 home win allowing me to indulge myself & play the kids for the final month.

League: 1st 27W 11D 8L +42GD 92Pts
Cups: 1st Rd in FA Cup & 4th Rd in FA Trophy.

Elsewhere: Like buses they come in two's & Liverpool retain EPL.

Euro 2012England win , beating Czech Rep in final 1-0, Still no Scotland.
