Tight fisted board who wanted mid table safety have just handed me my P45 a week before Christmas.
We were sitting in a comfortable 15th at the time with more than a third of the squad out injured.  | |

As I have already said I was unable to see out the season with Braintree. The season started well enough but injuries were a problem having 8 of my 20 outfield players out when my P45 turned up.
Standings when sacked: 15th Pld22 W7 D7 L8 GF25 GA24 Pts28
My sacking was the first of a number of departures during December, as such I barely had time to sign on when Real Oviedo offered me a £1500pw 4 year deal to finally get them out of Spain's 3rd tier of football
Second Division B2
Standings when appointment: 13th Pld18 W5 D7 L6 GF25 GA23 Pts22
I turn up to see I've inherited a very small (17 full time pro's) ageing squad but the board give me £800K to spend. :eek: I proceed to raid the Braintree backroom staff nabbing 3 coaches along with a physio & scout. My transfer budget stretches to three players (2ST & 1GK). The players adapt to my style quickly & surge up the league only losing 1 game onto a 2nd place finish.
Final Standings: 2nd Pld38 W19 D12 L7 GF71 GA34 Pts69
We are drawn against Figueres who finished 3rd in B3, the 2-1agg win doesn't reflect our domination but I couldn't care were in the final as are all the teams from division B2 making my 2nd look even better. The final pairs us against Racing with the 1st leg producing a superb 3-3 draw only to be followed by an appalling 2nd leg. The players look tense after we go 1-0 down early on, then a miracle thanks to a speculative effort with 3 minutes left that somehow sneaks in & were promoted on away goals.

Nobby's Billericay Update: A late surge see's them grab the final play-off place on the last day of the season. Forest Green prove to be tough opposition in the semi's. A solid 1-1 away performance is followed by a desperate display at New Lodge being easily beaten 3-0. Maybe next year Nobby.
Elsewhere: Wigan win the EPL for the 3rd year running (4 in last 5), Valencia are relegated to the 2nd division after finishing bottom of Liga BBVA & Castellion continue their rise to greatness following up last years La Liga title by winning the Champions Cup.
