No change really, finished 12th in Conference South last season.
Currently Mid January & they sit in 11th, 7 points behind last play-off place. They do have the best defence in the division, if only the could find a goal scorers who knows.
Survival is the watch word this season, the club avoid financial meltdown thanks to a boardroom takeover along with the subsequent cash injection & I survive receiving my P45 from the new board .
As for the football were dire, most players are looking for a way out of the club however they aren't putting in performances to impress any scouts & no-one wants to join us for £100pw. I'm sure my star striker is modelling himself on a certain French player as he sets a club record of 7 fines for not attending training & is always in the press saying he wants out.
Bottom at Christmas looks bad but a few players picked up after being released elsewhere adds some desire & somewhat surprisingly we guarantee survival with 3 games left, with our new stadium on the way maybe we'll push on next year.
Final Standings: 18th 14W 14D 18L 56GF 58GA 56Pts Cups: Waste of 3 games
Nobby's Billericay update: Didn't get that goal scorer they needed & Finished 10th with 2nd best defence in Conference South.
2017/18: League 1 Board: Invest in the future Media 16th
New stadium arrives at last, 5 hot prospects & 1 ex-Premiership player come in on free transfers with 17 going out including my Irish striking sensation for £750K of which I see bugger all for transfers. Scout may have found a new ST superstar, 19 year old who scored 6 goals in his first reserve game & ends the year with 12 1st team goals.
Early home form sucks, good away results keep us in mid table. We make a push for promotion when the home draws start turning into wins but we fall just short & have to settle for a play-off place.
Final Standings: 4th W20 D14 L14 GF69 GA51 GD +18 Pts74 Cups:: 2nd round exits across the board.
Play-offs: We get Preston in the Semi's, our head to head record is equal & it shows with 0-0 draws in both legs. In the penalty shoot-out Preston are lethal scoring every attempt & we respond by missing every penalty.
Frustration then hope followed by despair, all things considered a good season.
