I thought the FA introduced a rule asking all clubs to submit a saftey certificate from lheir local force when they entered the competition stating the maximum attendance allowed & confirming that they can properly police any tie to prevent ground switches on police advise.

I'm sure this was done because the FA & to an extend the fans were fed up with non-leauge clubs swithing to a larger ground on safety grounds (or should that read in a attempt to get more money), as such eroding the history & spirit of the FA Cup.

2024/25

Vila Nova (GO)

Once again we win the state championship with ease, in the cup I Play the kids & get elimintaed in the 3rd round.

First Division
The season starts of well enough despite my strikers inability to score, the main problem is in keeping all my players happy with most complaining they're not playing enough. I finally lose my rag after 2 players moan about a lack of 1st team football even though they've both just returned from injury, in a drunken rage I fine them both & quit.

After a short holiday I take the Valenciennes hot seat who sit 17th in the Frence 2nd division at the start of December. As most of the players are over 30 & want out a number of youngsters are bought in January. The new guys do the business helping push the team up the league, promotion looked a long shot with 9 points to make up from February & we finally give the board the mid table finish they asked for.
Final Standings: 8th Pld38 W13 D13 L12 GF61 GA53 Pts52

Elsewhere: Billericay are relegated finishing a point from safety, ManUre win the Championship, Bayern Munich are relegated from the Bundesliga.

Very odd, thanks to a number of U-21 call ups my final league game is postponed for 5 days but everyone else plays on Friday as normal.

Is it a good think that my players know a win secures promotion or a bad think that they also know failure to win means missing out?

2025/26
Valenciennes - French Second League.

After last yeasr rescue job I set to work clearing out the deadwood & ageing players, out go 17 & in come 14 in the hope that in all the turmoil I'll still be able to deliver on the boards request for a respectable position.
The new lads to me proud not one stands out but all of them work as a team & we quickly establish ourselves in the promotion places.

With whree game to go we are 5 points clear of 4th place Auxerre & then for no apparent reason we contract a case of the yips with 2 defeats, Auxerre collect 7 point in thire final 3 games & we go into the final game 12 days later needing a win to secure promotion.

Last games is at home to mid table Chatellaraudais, 19 seconds in & my DM scores a 20 yard screamer but we're unable to capitalise & with 4 minutes left the nightmare happens & we concede a sloppy goal after by DR has the ball nicked off him while playing for time in the corner.

2026/27

After my final day disappointment & with most of the sqaud wanting out I hand in my notice & take up office with Championship Aston Villa.

Four years in the Championship has hurt Villa's finances so 27 overpaid players see the exit which raises £7m for transfers, a total of 9 permanent & 3 loan deals are done with some good youngsters following me from Valenciennes.

By Christmas the boards request for a respectable finish looks accurate but thanks to a couple of deadly strikers & a strong defence we put together a good run of results in the league & secure 2nd place.

Cups Knocked out of both by League 2 clubs on our travels.
