Poor Start, crap Christmas, rallied from March & somehow reached the play-offs. Drew 2-2 with Gravesend but lost 5-4 on penalties in the final, which sounds ok unless of course Gravesend were down to 10 men after 24 minutes, 9 men after 70 & still managed to equalise in the 73rd.

That's how to dick your best chance of promotion.

2023 - Vila Nova

State Championship: Absolute stroll winning it again, this time I do lose a game in the league stage.
Brazilian Cup: Lose 1-0agg in the Final.

2nd Division: Much easier than I expected even with the likes of Vasco & Gremio in the division, goals do prove hard to come by with a solid defence being key. We occupy the promotion slots all year & secure our top flight place with a month to spare. The title race goes down to the wire with Gremio going into the final day a point clear with a superior number of wins but their 2-0 defeat gives us a chance, in our match we take an early lead & hold on until the 90th minute when a red card & the resulting goal looks like killing my title dream but with 94 minutes on the clock a poor clearance bounces to to my AM RC who lashes it in the net.

Elsewhere: Brazil are knocked out in the group stages of the Copa America which Venezuela eventually win. My old club Braintree look like a disaster waiting to happen, a year after moving into another new stadium the board announce plans to build a newer even larger arena & saddle the club with a £92M debt. The potential for managing a fallen giant in England is looking good with Everton, Aston Villa, *cough* Blackburn all looking good bets for relegation to League one & ManuUre only 4 points above the Premier League drop zone.

Just for Nobby Billericay appear to have recovered from their play-off heartache last season & currently (Dec 3rd) sit 2nd in the league with 33pts from 18 games.

Quick update on happenings in Europe.

ManUre join Aston Villa, Everton, Blackburn & Man City in the Championship after they are relegated on the final day of EPL season thanks to a home defeat against West Brom.

Too make Simon's day I'm please to annouce the promotion of Billericay to the Conference national after a 2-0 play-off win against Merthyr.

Milan have a season in Serie B to look forward to after they also failed to survive on the final day but it's worse for Empoli (Serie A team when the save began) as they are relegated to Serie C2.

Valencia & Marseille both face relegation to the 3rd tier of their respective leagues with two games left but better news for Koln fans after they secure a 7th Bundesliga title in a row.

Plenty of fallen giants for me to look at if I ever get bored of Brazil.
