Put money in as a collective and make your own club
Put money in and take over an existing club and then play with it. :thdn:
| Actually, well put Tim, I hadn't looked at it that way... I agree with you.

| Wimbledon FC were bought out and were relocated to Milton Keynes then renamed MK dons.
The supporters of Wimbledon were outraged by this and subsequently setup AFC Wimbledon from scratch (The team SI sponsors).
Sancho, just a word of warning. You do not have to respond to each comment with a new post. In future if you want to comment on two previous posts, just keep it in the one reply. |

Thanks Craig0, will do...
how far is MK Dons from Wimbledon? I thought this wasn't done in the UK? A few teams have suffered this in Mexico, well, actually about two in the last 8 years or so, and the distance is somewhat considerable; Necaxa and Atlante (which is now in Cancun, where there are lots of hurricanes in the fall season, not a very smart move).

You know, I am not too sure on the distance, but long enough to annoy the die hard Wimbledon fans. I think it was the relocation that caused the damage and the name change which was the nail in the coffin.

| Generally, it isn't done, but the FA were probably persuaded by <STRIKE>a brown envelope</STRIKE> the quality of the proposal from the then-Wimbledon board.

Didn't they nearly move Wimbledon to Ireland at one point?

What side of the world is this? I was well aware of it happening, and Canada probably has the worst footie coverage on the planet.
I really don't know how that could be put into the game, though. Having 1000 supporters choose a side for each match would likely be a programming nightmare, not to mention the negative backlash I think SI would get for implementing a concept that would be so poor in the scope of this game.

Franchising and then moving a team is more common in American Football isn't it? The Oakland Raiders, Houston Oilers plus a few other teams historically.
Just had a look, there's an article on Wiki about it and seems pretty much as controversial there too.
