First the Saxons. Then the Normans. And now the Austrians. England gets invaded.
I haven't really had an update thread for a long time - but it seems, my current savegame is lasting long enough, so I'll do an update.
What happened so far?
Loaded up the game. English leagues only, retained players from UK+Commonwealth+Ireland. Picked Moor Green as team.
Season 2006/2007 Moor Green - Conference North

Season 2007/2008 Moor Green - Conference North

Season 2008/(2009) Moor Green - Conference North
Resigned on 29.11.2008, sitting 20th and playing a type of football that made me lose hair.
Eternal club records:
5 Games Lost in Row
8 Games Without Scoring
Only highlight during my time at Moor Green: signed a player on a free who was a monster at heading/jumping. That player kept his place at the club even with my successor and became a club legend. He's still at the club, and only 29, but right now he has:
151 goals in 286 games for Moor Green. 17 assists and 32 MoM, avg. rating 7.14
Season (2008)/2009 AFC Wimbledon - Conference South
After 3 months of unemployment, I found a job at AFC Wimbledon.
I saved the club from relegation in the final 15 games of the season.
Final position:
16th 14-10-18 50:60 goals
The squad wasn't too bad, and healthy attendance figures gave us a wage budget that made it a bit easier to sign a couple of decent players.
Season 2009/2010 AFC Wimbledon - Conference South
Amazing season, in which the new talent and the old players worked really well together. In tough games though, we didn't have enough experience and it seemed like the pressure was too much. We failed in the playoff finals. Bitter moment #1.

Season 2010/2011 AFC Wimbledon - Conference South
I didn't change the squad a lot but only tried to fix 1-2 major weaknesses. The players had one more year of experience under their belts, so we marched through. Promotion without playoffs.

Season 2011/2012 AFC Wimbledon - Conference National
I expected a tough season and went into the season with a more defensively oriented approach. We did okay and had nothing to do with relegation.

Season 2012/2013 AFC Wimbledon - Conference National
Scrap the anti-football, and back to the mentality that brought us promotion (and helped my mind stay sane). We had a very good season, and I already had high hopes in the playoffs. We went out in the playoff final though. Bitter moment #2.

Season 2013/2014 AFC Wimbledon - Conference National
Only small changes. Trying again. Pushing hard. Hoping for the best. Marching on. Over 20 points clear of 2nd place. And then?
Bring on the aquaplaning. A mere 3 points in 13 games and a mediocre rest of the season ruin it all. We end up outside of the playoff spots. Bitter moment #3.

Season 2014/2015 AFC Wimbledon - Conference National
We were doing okay over the course of the season. After half-time we were in the top 5, not too far away from the top. Although my goalkeeper and my best striker got injured for 7 months / 3 months respectively. At that moment, I promised FM to resign from the club if the season got ruined again. Three bitter moments in a few years are enough already. I didn't want to become a second Leverkusen or Schalke. My ultimatum seemed to help.
