The problem with retaining players is that it unbalances the database and the world tends to be dominated by the nation who has players retained in 20+ seasons careers.
What I don't get is why SI had to get rid of the huge database |

There is an option on the game setup screen, it says 'retain players from {insert nation}'. It allows the user to select a nation from which all players (and staff I think) are retained in the game database. When say the English leagues are loaded even on a large database not all players are loaded (or retained) in the game. A common use of the option is to allow a national team to become active to be manageable at the start of the game.

Well I patched up last night. I have been playing on the earlier beta patches and can't say I have seen anything that prevented, or even hindered an LLM game. No major differences afetr the patch although my players do seem to be doing a bit more both on attack and in defence. I won't start a new game until this one dies or I get seriously upset about something stupid.

No it would unbalance the game on the international stage even more. With time you would possibly also see English players dominating in the other leagues and big clubs. Definitely :thdn:

Ok, I won't be retaining any players in my new save. But I am sure you all would agree that SI need to do something to create a more balanced and realistic game, so that there are not teams full of greys in the English leagues below Conference N/S.

| I am in season 3 and I was hoping that by this time I would not be worrying about greys in LL teams. |

I hope to not be worrying about grey teams too, but on current form they will be my enemy for a few years yet |
