Albion Rovers Scottish Third Division 2017/18

Again, the same player was the top scorer in the division, this time with 29 goals in the league from 30 games. We also equalled the record for amount of goals scored in a season, but again had the worst defence in the league this year. Overall, better than last season, but I'm dissapointed as I was hoping for at least a play-off place before the season began.

In other news the under 19s won their league, so the future's bright.

Also, in January I was told that the chairman is looking to sell the club and then, in March, I found out that the new consortium is looking to appoint someone else as manager when they get control. On 14th May, the takeover was completed and I was told that I would be told the new chairman's decision on who will be manager shortly. On 23rd May I was told that I will be staying at Albion Rovers as manager.

We started badly and ended badly. Fortunately we had a good run in the middle of thie season and finished in the playoff places, 6 points clear of Stenhousemuir. Again, we had the league's top scorer.

In the playoffs semi-final we faced Stirling Albion. A 2-0 home win in the first leg, followed by a 1-0 win in the second leg set up a tie with Dumbarton. We have a 2-0 win each and a 5-2 win against each other this season. A 1-0 win in the first leg meant we went to their place needing at least a draw. We won 3-1!! Promotion \o/

The Under 19s retained their league.
