And back to the update.

I'm off to Florida tomorrow morning so I won't update this for at least two weeks so here's what it's like when I leave:

We started badly, but have just hit top form and have only lost one in the last 12 games. Out of all the cups.

We seem to have started either scoring loads or failing to score at all.

I got back from Florida yesterday and after sleeping for 13 hours when I got home (stupid night flights) I'm ready to continue on my path to promotion (hopefully).

Will update when I've finished the season, which will probably be some time this evening.

Airdrie United Scottish Second Division 2027/28

After a bad start, (bottom after two games) we fought back and we were top with 15 games remaining. We stayed there until the final day, when we were level on points woth Elgin. A better goal difference meant a win against Stenhousemuir would clinch the title and promotion.

In our final game, we dominated Stenhousemuir, but failed to get a goal. Elgin had a player sent off after 32 minutes, but still managed to pull off a 2-0 win against Dumbarton. Oh well, off to the playoffs we go.

We were drawn to play Alloa in the semi-final. We played poorly in the first leg and lost 2-0. Despite dominating the second leg, we failed to score and Alloa got their third goal of the tie in the 90th minute.

We dominated the league until Christmas, but after the New Year, we really started struggling and lost our top spot. We lost 5 games in a row at the end of the season, meaning we needed a win to have a chance at even making the playoffs.

After going 2-0 down, a harsh team-talk got the team going and we managed to pull back to 2-2. In the 94th minute we got a free kick just outside the box. My keeper stepped up (strangely, the best freee kick taker in the squad) but hit the bar, and the defence managed to clear it. Bugger.

Third Division: 6th, 53 pts
