I don't have FM2008 yet, so I'm not able to answer your question accurately, Jordi.

However, I do understand where you're coming from. In FM2007 I noticed that I prefer youth players that my scouts recommended me to youth players from my own club. My own youth players are too much of a mystery, the coach assessments are usually crap and don't give information about where the player will most likely end up.

So, I think, this in-depth-report would be a great enhancement to my in-club-youth-scheme.

Bit of both. I always look to get as many young players into the team as I can, but if they're not up to the task I sign what I need.

There's nothing better than nurturing a youth player and see him progress.

It's just a shame it doesn't always happen.

I love to nurture youths and it's an essential part of my team-building once I'm a bit into the game. In the start none of my youth are good enough anyway, so I find better prospects through scouting and Bosmans.

I actually think the new feature have made me put less emphasis on my own youths. I may think "Hey this guy may turn into something, he's got some half-decent stats". Then I check the coach report: "Get rid of ASAP!".

Just as in earlier versions I'd love to get a good youth team going that over time can produce good starters. But atm I don't have good enough youths coming through, and it's impossible to sign talented youths at this early stage. When I'm able to pay for players, things may get different.

Do you always trust your coaches, though? I'll heed their reports to a certain extent but if the player looks half decent to me I'll keep him on regardless of what the coaches say.

The player I had in mind is still on the books as the new feature () means I can't release them before their contract runs out anyway. I'll see how he does in the U19. If he does okay, I'll keep him. If not, he's out.

I don't always trust the coach reports, but it's a great help. Best new feature this year IMO

I ignore the coaches and decide myself which players i keep or boot out, similar for scouts will decide on who they have suggested myself.

I read the coach reports on players I'm iffy about keeping, but the majority of the time I decide myself whether to keep a youngster or not based on his stats and his average rating(s).
