Thank you Boltman.
At least one person is willing to speak to me, without being a critic!
Cosmo-poof - Yes, I also know where the bloody Coma-key is.

I take an ostrich approach to finances in the lower leagues.
I never buy a single player, mostly because I'm always broke so the board won't give me any money to spend. So I never spend any of the club's money so it's not my problem if the moronic board can't balance the books. It's actually quite depressing; You're sitting there watching your bunch of half-wits getting trounced, and suddenly find yourself realising that your club just isn't viable. Nobody watches, no prize money, no big offers for your players, might as well just fold and go do something alse instead.
Then the new season starts and the optimism comes flooding back, along with the "final reminders" :o

It's the board's responsibility to care of the finances. I just spend as much as I can.
When I am under my wage budget it makes me quite angry when the board start whining about financial control. I am mighty proud of my financial control-rating of 1 in FM07.

| I like the sound of that one. Does it replicate the effect of visiting GQ without actually having to read through the threads?

I was looking for this new key while reading this thread.
As for finances, as has been mentioned a few times by some, they are the boards responsibility. I look after the team, they look after the money.
The playing of so many friendlies from other national leagues throughout the season, is highly unrealistic. Under 18's may perhaps have the odd trip, once or twice a year, but why would teams from Scotland and England send they're reserve teams to play friendlies in Norn Iron, when they've got a full fixture list of they're own.

Thanks Klipdrift for taking the MickR. Nice one
I'm sorry I did not realise that what I have been doing was not "very LLM like"
Someone has already said it is not my fault though. Bringing in the English and Scottish teams to Belfast just to balance the books. I did not think it was "unrealistic"
However. It looks as though that particular avenue has been closed to me. I don't know if it's the patch I installed or just the game, but I no longer make enough money from these friendlies to make a profit |
