I agree Mkus, but I still think that the layout of FM06 was much better. Besides, it is something to smile about when you are going on a nice run of 15 matches without wining (and with only six goals to your credit).

Well, at first I thought the 08 layout was abysmal. Now I think it's okay, but still prefer 07. Skin it if you hate it that much.

Have you tried some skins Sancho? It makes a big difference. Didn't like the original skin for 08. But the new one is ace

Well, from my experience with FM2k7 and WSM2k8 (I live in Chicago so I purchased FM2k7 as an Online Download and didn't like the fact that I didn't get a CD or a manual so this time I decided to purchase WSM2k8 from Amazon.com) I think 2k8 is starting to grow on me.

It's only been a week since I last played my last 2k7 and started the a new season with 2k8 and I like the changes that 2k8 brings to the table. I always played with the largest database size and 2k8 seems like it's faster and more fluid that 2k7 was. The skin took a few days to get used to, I don't know why but the green skin was very easy on the eyes, of course you can always change that if you so choose.

In regards to bugs and game-breaking features I have not come across any but then again, to be fair I am still on my first game and it's in BSS with all divisions from England, Germany, Italy, Spain, Ireland and Belgium loaded. Well, I did run across an issue where there's been no rain in England but I've already mentioned that in another post.

Anyways, so far I'm very happy with the game and will post back here if my view happens to change.

I did no climbing. I did no biking either, as I couldn't find a place that hired out road bikes, only mountain bikes.
I did do a bit of riding though... on top of a camel. Was alright, needed more speed. My friend's fiancee was a picture when she dismounted... one of total fear. Sadly nobody had a camera at hand.

Not bland... rather hardy, has anyone else noticed that it is harder to retain players past their first contract? I am finding this very frustrating, players just give up playing for your team... bunch of prima donas.

I wouldn't call it bland.

I quite like some of the new features and the match engine looked pretty good out of the box.

The problem is that I stopped playing for about 3 weeks, while waiting for the patch to fix a couple of things

Now the patch is out and I just can't seem to get back into it despite not even encountering any serious bugs this time.

I'm all FM'd out .

I haven't noticed this... I find my players are always willing to sign anew, often willing to wait until the very last day of their existing contract too... although not if someone else comes in for them

Brian,
I must give it to you, actually two things:
(1) I was hoping someone would give such a speech, in the good sense. I applaud your statement, "Brian's Clamor" (or clamour for those in the isles). It embodies the same feeling I have when I witness some match, I cannot wait to play the game...

And the second thing, the freeking oscar for the drama!

love it. I retract my words (very wrong choice - blame it on the "English as a second language" card, and the bottles of wine I tend to drink while playing and posting).
