Not at all. I actually rather like the Northern Irish league. I had my most enjoyable time of FM07 there, so I guess I'm kinda drawn to it, even if I never start there.

08 is actually quite an advance on 07 but you don't see it all at once and some will never see half of it, many things are quite subtle.

The ME had a huge ammount of work and that will become more apparent with the patch and proper long save games.

I don't doubt the improvements of the game (I can see some and truly appreciate them), it is just a je-ne-se-quois... I will try skins, kits, and a new brand of beer and see if that helps... else, the shrink's phone number is just a few steps away

Not at all.

Actually, after a mamooth career save with 06 which saw me get in the late XXIst century, I hadn't found the strength to carry on with 07.

However, 08 has brought the bug back with a vengeance. Yesterday I had a 7 hours session followed by a 6 hours one carried this morning.

Same here, Jordi. I took advantage of Nat getting up at 6:15 yesterday morning to go to work for an opportunity for several hours game play, and I've even been popping home for lunch a couple of times last week (the joys of living 7 minutes from my office) for a quick session while I have a sarnie.

I'm really enjoying FM08 at the moment.

Literacy levels in northern Spain will plummet if you keep doing that...

I was nervous after playing my longest ever save out on FM07. Fortunately, I seem to have picked up where I left off - really enjoying it.

Can't explain why, but 08 has got me by the family jewels, already far more than 07 did. Pity I just lost my first good save to a very unlucky combination of factors.

I think I'll wait for the patch to start a new one. Then again, I'm dying to get going again...

I've been playing steadily since 08 came out, it would be more if it weren't for F1, Pro Evo 2008 and Call of Duty 4 on PS3.

Nobby!
Welcome back ! I hope you had a good time climbing /biking.

Now back to topic...
I think I am taking my words back, the game did seem bland at first, it wasn't until this weekend when I found myself "working" while the game was running in the background... I managed to crash the first team (ironically named Fenix), and the game picked up quite nicely!!

However, I do find the plain shields and most graphics very bland, and... plain. I am trying to remedy this though.

The patch has done nothing so far though, good or bad.

FM/CM has never been about the graphics. A few versions ago you got none of this. I can't be arsed with downloading badges and the like. FM is about gameplay for me.
