Oh no my friends. I am 5 seasons in and noticed some players against me at BSN level that seem completely insane.
I can accept a Millwall forward being out of favour. In real life I consider him to be Championship standard but I can accept him maybe dropping a division or two in the game with injuries / bad form whatever.
But he went to Woking in the Conference who went down and agreed a new contract dispite being worth £500k and being on £2000 a week, which seems absurd for a club at this level.
He's hit 17 goals in the first 11 league games including a hat-trick against me. All 25 yarders or more. Unplayable.
Yet I have come up against 3 or 4 players like this already that are playing part time on huge wages and are worth more than the club would have been.
Is this a problem or like real life is someone going to come in with a bid come January and he'll be gone.
It just seems ridiculous. I have also noticed in the top scorers charts that a League 2 striker has 20 already including 4 hat-tricks!
If I say that in real life he is currently an England U21 striker and yes I appreciate the former Bolton striker who won a full cap before playing at about 10 league clubs but these cases are rare.
It seems players with pure class are playing 3/4 levels beneath them for whatever reason. Anyone else seen this?
If it's the former, I've seen it plenty of times. It's fast becoming my pet hate with FM08. I've seen players as high as the PL go on loan to BSN/S. Naturally they rip the place apart, even if they are crap players in the PL. It's pretty ridiculous to see players worth 850k go on loan to clubs not even worth half that.
Agree there Pangaea, I'm in BSN and I asked to loan a 18yo St from Blackburn worth £750k (3 times more than my club value!!) not expecting it to be accepted by either the club or the player but my scout liked him and my brother went school with him IRL so I thought I'd give it a do......to my shock and surprise he ended up coming on a 3month loan, scored debut hat-trick but injured next game and missed majority of the 3months. Probably a good job because just watching the 2d game you could tell he was far superior to anyone else on the pitch.
Had a look at the top scorers / assists in the league and there seems to be a few other players that really shouldnt be playing at this level
I'm having the same problem. I have a team in the BSS and am currently in 2nd position. AFC Wimbledon, currently in 18th place in my league, just picked up this reserve player on loan from a Championship team who's value is over a million. His first game against us we lost 6-5, he scored all 6 goals!
Does this ever happen in-real-life? Being from Chicago I don't get the opportunity to watch any games from England besides Championship and EPL.
It is the parent club issue that is causing a lot of this with players far too good for the lower leagues being loaned out there.
There should be an option to turn off this part of the game for the UK leagues as it isnt legal here. This might stop the stupid players appearing on loan from the top divisions.
I totally agree with this problem & after reading SCM's post a possible solution sprung to mind. In editor I'm sure you can remove afflitaions with other clubs. slightly lengthy process but a thought.
(p.s. i haven't seen any new afflitations formed between non-user teams during the running of the game so maybe this could remove affliations altogether)
