A couple of weeks of hectic job-hunting after leaving China - my apparently "continental" reputation doesn't cut as much mustard as it might - and a side relegated back to the English League One after a season in the Championship and stuck in the bottom four offer me a job.

2018ish - Doncaster Rovers, English League One

20 games of the season to go, and just about enough time in the transfer window to bring in a few signings and bolster a dispirited squad. One loss in 11 and a seven game winning streak took us to within a point of the playoffs with 9 games to go. But what aquaplanes up must aquaplane down and our form deserted us after that. Despite a revival in the last couple of games, we finished a respectable - and board-satisfying - but still disappointing 8th, 2 points off the playoffs.

The squad's not great, but has a couple of genuine stars and I've cleared out a bunch of overpaid nonces so next season could be interesting if I can plug the remaining gaps.

Oh, and miracle of miracles, the club's actually making money without needing dodgy cup income. I'd forgotten it was possible...

How do you have so many different leagues set to playable? Doesn't that make the game excruciatingly slow? What settings are you playing on?

From memory, I've got a large database and all leagues in from England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, N Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, China, S Africa, Brazil, Argentina, the US and Australia. 34 divisions, some split into regional subdivisions so somewhere around ~45 in total.

The game runs fine, but it's on a decent machine.

I have a similar size Dn rourke on a pretty new machine and it runs fast enough fr me too.

I like to have as many countries running as possible. It affords me plenty of options when I've mismanaged a clubs finances and need to do a runner!! :thup:
