Keep in mind guys that I'm not asking for specific players to purchase, just looking for advice. I'm currently managing Boston Utd in the Conference North, and have no transfer budget to work with. I did some searching for players that were unattached or had expired contracts, and sent my scout out to report back on quite a few of them. Every time the scout came back with the same response: "You should avoid signing this player." So am I to take my scout seriously, should I maybe take a look at some of these players? If not, what is the best way for a team with no transfer budget to get new players? FYI, I've always played with the big teams, this is my first attempt as a LLM, so I don't really know everything there is to know about it.
A better way of doing it is to send your scouts on a mission round the country/area and get him to report what players he thinks are suitable for the club.
You can still find out which of them are suitable for your club. Don't always take the word of your scouts. If you think the player has a better chance of succeeding, then try to sign him.
yeah, but unfortuantely, all the players my scout said are good players and would be considered good signings, all play for somebody else, and I don't have any money in the transfer budget. Is there actually a way to set it up so that I can send my scout to go around England and look at players that are unattached or have a $0 transfer value?
Also, saying that a player is good doesn't mean he'll slot right into your first eleven. When the scouts tell me they've found a quality player, I'll start to pay attention.
You may not find a player who is willing to leave there club for a lower club.. Best bet is too search for players worth 0 and loan a new team basically.. When you go up, you get money..
I have noticed that scouts only bring back reports of players enlisted in teams, unless one specifies in the scout search otherwise, right? Is this a bug or some logical (and real-life) explanation behind it?
That answer aside, that sounds like a bug with your game or just a run of unusually poor luck in that respect on your scout reports. I haven't seen it in 08; still get the usual mix of unattached/attached players on the scouting lists.
