Once again, my scurvy laden crew of ol' salts, showed me that August, September must be ignored. It's October when things start to happen. Unfortunately, October is also when the bigger teams discovered my some of my good prospects I picked up from last year.
My super young polish ST from last year was in great form, Championship, League 1 teams came a hunting for him, I rejected, that is until my Chairman accepted an offer from Charlton. Also a great young winger was lost through my chairman's intervention ... Grrrr
So, by the end of December, we were in the playoffs places, as high as 3rd. Come January, I lose my 2 young stars, and I lose my 30 y-o Veteran ST for 4 months from injury, my 2 starting Centre-Backs also from injury for 2 and 3 months respectively, and consistent niggling injuries, plus a couple of untimely suspensions sent us into aquaplane mode! Dropping out of contention for promotion and finishing a disappointing 11th.
