It wasn't the super continent.

It was THE continent.

Season 2001/12 English Conference North

Board/Fans - Fight bravely against relegation
Prediction - 19th (of 22)
Finished - 3rd P:42 W:23 D:3 L:15 F:62 A:43 Pts:75

Started the season, much like the last, just hovering above the drop zone. Defence was good, a couple of new signings shored that end up. But we couldn't score kept losing 1-0, 2-1 and the like. or drawing 0-0, 1-1? My scout found me a great 27 y-o skirt wearing ST with league 1 and 2 experience in October and to my surprise, he actually wanted to sign for us? Must have been truly desperate, like me!

Anyway, he turned my season around. Not only was he great, but turned out to have a perfect partnership with my promising 18 y-o TM. Veteran ST of last years fame, was forced to sit on the sidelines as these two went on a spree together. We went from 18th in late October to 4th by late December with a 10w 0D 1L drive that even I cannot explain? Our only lose in this run was to top of the table York (away) 2-0!

And for the rest of the season we stayed in the play-off places. York and Blyth ran away with the top 2 places, but we ended up 3rd on a good run of form!

Then came the Play-off Semi-Finals, we drew Nuneaton, who had dealt with us easily in the season proper! And continued to do so again. We were always chasing the tie, due to thier great starts! At home in the first leg, they went up 1-0 within 8 mins, we dominated but could only draw level in the 88th min.
In the return leg they went 3-0 up within 30 mins, we drew 2 back by the 75th min, but could not find the winner we needed to go to the finals.

But a fantastic season overall. Oh! so close to promotion!

Cups, as usual were a waste of time!

Players In - 6 for 2k
Players Out - 9 for 2k
Fans POTY - 28 y-o Club Favorite ML 7.12 avg 7 Gls 8 Ass (43 apps)
My Poty - 27 y-o Skirt Wearing ST Avg 7.41 13 gls (22 Apps)
Interesting Note: If you only include the season from October onwards, we went W:21 D:1 L:9 F:48 A:21

Honestly, I always get sayings mixed up. Good thing Pangaea's always here to show me the way through my mistakes.

KUTGW GB!

Next season you can move onwards and upwards!
