my appologies, I just read three different threads and got them confused by the time I got to the bottom of the thread.
Ah, finances, that is the best way a team can implode... On the bright side of things, you will get to experience the way FM08 handles bankrupcy first hand.
What happens if you get relegated from the lowest league? It is a mess, you don't want to know ( I actually don't know, but I am sure it is not a pretty sight).

| I don't know about FM08, but in earlier games you just got sacked. |

I resigned too. But you'll surely get sacked.

I'd be interested to know.
Part of me thought I would know last night as we looked dead running out at Hucknall.
All I can say is it was bizarre watching how form went out of the window. Team talk time and I went through all the options to see if it gave any new ones, ie - We have to win to stay alive or you can't lose or we'll be down - but it was just the usual.
The club wanted me to establish the club in the division and I have done that I guess by staying up. It's a case now of whether they sack me or not. I only have the home nations loaded and I hate the Irish Leagues although Scotland interests me greatly.
Fingers crossed I stay at Vally Stadium and get The Reds into the Conference.
Other news England won Euro 2008 (I know!) and Brazil won 2010 World Cup. Probably the funniest thing was that Iraq finished top of a group with Holland, Argentina and Sweden and only lost on penalties in the Quarters to Italy.

Scotland is nice. I also recommend Northern Ireland. Finances and all the cup games are a bitch. But it's a very nice challenge
Had a very nice save there on FM06 or 07. After many seasons we finally managed to de-thrown Linfield  /bragging :o

I do love this game.
The board are furious at me for being £178k in debt (bonuses have just gone out as well) and are annoyed I almost got relegated.
Most of my decent players left and I am struggling to attract anyone. It's the hardest season so far for picking up out of contract players.
What's worse my scout found an amazing central midfielder from a local club much higher up the pyramid who accepted the contract I offered him. My scout was raving about him. However as he is an uncapped American he was denied a work permit. Not happy!
I am currently down to 11 players and some good kids and am trying to strenghten by offering trials to a few players my scouts have picked out over the last season or so.
Not too sure this will be pretty but we can but try!
By the way what's the LLM view on 'attending' matches. You know when you watch a computer game?
I have not done so yet but am considering it. As long as it is a local game say within 50 miles or a TV game I think I should be able to watch.
After all I have all the Sky channels and Setanta etc in real life and watch all the Blue Square Premier games and if I was the Redditch manager I would be watching Brum and Villa Reserve or Youth games and stuff like that.
I consider this realistic as long as I am not watching matches in Russia for example!

As long as they don't clash with one of your matches, it's certainly accepted. Real managers do it.

Heartbreak.
Appears I have lost the dressing room.
Despite some fantastic pre-season signings and being the bookies 5th favourites to go up we got slaugthered in 6 pre-season games with 3 thrashings to those dreaded Greys.
Ratings of 4 and 5 applenty and then lost 4 of the first 5 games at the start of the campaign.
The money situation was ridiculous, the board were not happy, the fans were not happy. With such a good squad I decided to walk and let the new man come in and turn it round.
I applied for 5 jobs and was offered the post at Eastleigh.
I was informed that they had £4.4k a week wages and £79,000 to spend on wages. As this was the only job I got offered I took it. The transfer kitty for a Blue Square South side was huge.
However, after I took the job I was informed I had no transfer funds and even worse my wage budget was £120 a week! I was exceeding it £4k a week. The board wanted me to address this as well as getting the £275k debt sorted!
All this with players worth nothing more than £2k and a lot who still had two years to run.
AARRGGHHH!!!
This is going to take some sorting out.
On a positive note I won 3 games out of 3 to add to their record of W5 D3 L2 before I took over and I was 2nd before a 6-2 thrashing by Woking, 4 being scored by an ex Millwall striker who is still easily good enough to play in Championship / League 1. He's already got 17 goals in 11 games. What on earth is he doing at this level!!!
All in all a challenge and a half. Don't envy me!

What the ...
Has anyone ever seen this?
6 games in and I was sacked. Won 4 out of 5 and then lost 5-1 to Bath and was booted out!
I've now taken over at Forest Green Rovers in the BSS.
6 games! I won 4! WHAT!!!
