I know that, I always do my homework before managing any team in FM . But in FM Hampden Park maintenance costs have to be covered entirely by the club, which usually leads to a financial crisis. I have seen Hampden reduced to 10.000 seats because of that.

'08-'09
League Position:-1st in Division 1
League Challenge Cup:-I'm not even going to bother mentioning which round I went out on
League Cup:-3rd Round
Scottish Cup:-Quarter Finals.

Umm wow...promtion was the last thing I expected. We started off the season really crappy and it wasn't until a striker from Celtic (who hadn't played a game all season for 'em) finally signed on, that we started to gain some momentum. Our good Scottish cup run was a bit lucky in places but we got what we deserved in the end(farkin' Rangers....). Back to the season, even with our run, we neeeded to make up 8 points in the last 3 matches and we went on a 3 game winning streak and the team in first just kept losing.....I mean you just can't believe **** like that.....

'09-'10
League Position:-8th in SPL
League Challenge Cup:-I wasn't in it~!
League Cup:-2nd Round
Scottish Cup:-1st Round

I had no money, the board kept complaining and sold 3 of my best players from under me, yet I just managed to keep my head above water for just long enough to get on a good run and the points I got during that spell, was enough to see me safe and gain a couple of places late on.

Other notable events

-Bristol City and AFC Wimbledon have been involved in Euro(UEFA)Cup qualifying matches. Surprisingly neither won and got through to the main draw.

-Newcastle have been doing surprisingly **** in Europe.

-Cowdenbeath are now in Division 1 and Gretna are back in Division 3.

-Rangers won the Scottish domestic treble in my first season and have been the only team to do so, thus far but Celtic have been the only team to win consecutive SPL titles.

-AC Milan have now won 4 Champions League titles and 3 Supercups in a row. :thdn:

In my 07 game, it's 2019 and it's down to 2520, Queen's Park are in receivership and - surprisingly - hanging in there in Div 2.

It seems it is time for an inquiry of Italian football then: Milan

Good job getting to the top tier, how many leagues did you load up in the PSP?

By the way, did East Stirling manage to stay up this year, and does it show in FM08? (I am away from my gaming machine).

League Position:-4th in SPL
League Challenge Cup:-I wasn't in it, for the second season running~!
League Cup:-Runners Up
Scottish Cup:-1st Round

Holy mother of god, QUEEN'S PARK ARE GOING TO EUROPE! Everybody was firing and it was only the odd defensive injury that held us back from going even higher. I actually had a comfortable win over Rangers, in the last game of the season, in the SPL and that ended their title hopes. The League Cup run was lucky but a win over the hated Motherwell(we have had issues over the years :thdn, that got us in the final, was one of my favourite games of the season.

'11-'12
League Position:-5th in SPL
League Challenge Cup:-I wasn't in it, yet again
League Cup:-2nd Round
Scottish Cup:-1st Round
Euro Cup:-First Round(post group phase)

Euro Qualification came easy, as we went up against crap teams from countries that I'm sure had to of been made up by the FM team. Our group was fairly weak, apart from Newcastle and we breezed through that but came up agaisnt a fired up Parma in the next round and got thrashed. The SPL was frustrating, as injuries picked up in Europe brought a bad ending to the league season that looked like finishing as high as 2nd at one point. I guess I have to be in that bloody Euro Vase thingy now, if I want to stay in Europe.....

Other notable events

-East Stirling went as high as Division 1, before falling back down to the 3rd Division at the end of this season.

-Cowdenbeath and Gretna are now both in the 2nd Division(promotion for Gretna and relegation for Cowdenbeath.

-Celtic have now won 3 consecutive SPL titles.

-AC Milan won 5 consecutive Champions League titles and 5 consecutive Super Cups.

-Their run was ended this season by Turkey's Galatasary.(and a spoiler from next season is that they also won the Super Cup.

Bug problem.

I beat St Johnstone 6-1 in the 2nd round of the League Cup, then I forgot about the competition(as you do ).

The next thing I knew was, it was the Quarter Finals but I was somehow out of the cup, despite not playing since my 2nd Round win.

I went to check and when I went backwards a page, to go over the 2nd round results, I got an error meessage and the game froze(some gibberish, with phrases like "can't find winner fixture" or something to that effect.

After this I decided to save the game, in another slot and use this 'new' game to simulate the rest of the season and see if the bug would work itself out, providing I didn't investigate the League Cup business again.

It got to the end of the season but at the end of season summary screen, instead of saying where I finished in the League Cup it just had a blank space(it still listed where I finished in the other competitions).

Thinking, I decided to go back to the original save and play the season through for real and just hope the League Cup bug, was a one season only thing(I am currently about one game week away from the end of season summary screen, so I will find out for sure in the next couple of hours when I go into the next season).

Wish me luck and incase you were all curious, I did worse playing myself than I did with the test simulation(I bet Deep Blue would of also beaten me at Chess ).
