Just been promoted from the 2nd Division in Norway, only had a 1,500 size stadium, only had an average attendance of 290 in my promotion year, finances are about level after two years.
My board decide to extend the stadium by building a new 3,000 seater stand, at a cost of £4.6million.
Now suddenly the board are distraught at my financial management?
I'm about to install the final patch? Do you think this will make any difference?
It's so annoying, worked really hard for two years not be in any financial difficulty, then the board do this?
I'm now praying on a miracle to rescue the team.
Yay for irrational boards. Mine keep complaining about my "apparent lack of concern" regarding the club;s bank balance. Never mind that I shipped out my two best players in an attempt to halve the balance and bring the wages in-budget again...
There are some rules in Norway regarding the size of the stadiums, so I would expect a lot of lower league teams having to expand their stadiums after promotion to meet the regulations.

I've been promoted from the bottom tier to the second tier in Norway.
This is probably the reason, as until it's complete, I'm playing at another ground in Norway, (a non league team with a capacity of 8,500)!!
If the size of the stadium for the higher league is why I have had to have an extension, it would have been nice for them to tell me this was the reason?
ie;
The board have announced that the ground is going to be increased by 3,000 so that it meets the minimum requirements for this league. It will be completed on 30/11/2009.
Duly noted. I've only taken over the stadium side of things in the last year, so I've not yet had much time to renovate it too much, outside of fixing obvious bugs naturally.
I do agree that these news items could really use some enhancements and it is on my list to have a look at expanding these for the next FM.

We've also had a chat about the board comments about the club's financial situation and we will be reviewing them in the future. Some of them do appear quite harsh considering the manager can only do his part in keeping spending down and has very little affect on the other financial income and expenditure.
However, the effect of the finances on the overall board confidence is not that big compared to how you are performing, so as long as you do your part and stay within the budgets given and also get decent results, it should be fine with the board.

Well, fair enough I did slip slightly over my wage budget, and the bank balance was.. well... bad. At least I don't need to fear for my job while I'm doing well on the field, just because the board are unhappy with the finances...
also, :thup: to the SI staff for being on-hand like that
