Right, I can't really be bothered with updates, but I have to read them so I thought I would start my own.
The reason I am starting this to show that there is no template as to what is required for an update.
Most updates will be short and sweet, maybe a line or two (WAHEY). Others may be a bit longer and I may decide to tell you something that has happened in the game which doesn't directly affect my team, but only if it's interesting. I am not going to be telling you who wins the FA cup every season or the world cup.
England, Scotland, Italy, Spain loaded.
2007-2008
Holidayed the first season
2008-2009
Started unemployed and offered the Cordoba job in Segunda B4 in Spain. A pretty good team with a pretty bad manager. We were just sitting mid table for most of the season.
2009-2010
Started to enjoy managing Cordoba, got a few players in but managed to finish one out of the playoff spots. Crap in all cups.
2010-2011
Looking forward to the season, well I was until after my first or second game my players were all magically unregistered and I had to play greys. They were registered before so god knows what happened. I resigned in disgust.
Got offered the Las Palmas job in December. Another "Fallen Giant" so I took it. They were in Segunda B1 and struggling in mid table. Changed some things around, brought in some players and managed to win Segunda B1 and the playoff final, my first promotion in FM08. Did crap in cups.
We were struggling all season and it didn't matter how I tried to change things we were relegated. I was getting a bit sick of Spain so it was time for a change.
2012-2013
Holidayed a season, no jobs I wanted.
2013-2014
Offered the Cheltenham job in League 2. They were just promoted from the BSP but I was never really into this team and my interest waned when we were relegated and I resigned.
2014-2015
East Fife in Scottish Division 3. A bit of a come down from sunny Spain but I didn't mind, they had nice colours.
Finished 7th in the league, did crap in the cups and most of my players were terrible.
Again crap in the cups, but this time we managed to finish 10th winning just 3 games all season.
2016-2017
A no show in cups and another 10th finish finally sealed my fate, we won 4 games this season so although it was improving, heh, I didn't have the strength to carry on. I would like to take the job again, perhaps in a few years.
2017-2018
Brechin offered me the job and they were expecting promotion (They'll be lucky). Another team my heart wasn't really in. Finished 3rd, crap in cups but we did win the Playoff Semi final.
The final was a comedy of errors. We were 1-0 down from the first leg and now we are at home winning 2-1. Then out of the blue, my keeper decides to loft a big kick up field. Their keeper comes for it, misses and watches it bounce over his head for a goal.
I think I have just won promotion till they score in the last second of added time to go through on away goals.
I applied for a job in the BSP and the result was the Brechin fans calling for my head. I managed to say the wrong thing in the press and was offered an ultimatum by the board to resign or be sacked.
Shame you didn't stick with Cordoba, I have a soft spot for them. Went to see them play whilst on holiday...bore draw but good experience. Not sure my wife was so impressed
I beta patched at the start of my career and added the next beta around the Las Palmas days I think.
I wanted to stay with Cordoba, but I found the prospect of playing a few months with greys' until the registration window opened again just a bit daunting. I am not that much of a masochist.
I have Italy and Finland as well, but I think I will stick around England for a few seasons unless another job offer arises in Scotland. I quite like that league.
Scotland can be a bit of fun, I'm looking to move there on my game in a few years too. They always seem to have better players, but playing for peanuts. My kind of teams!
