The events of the first two years are a bit hazy (lots of wine), I will try my best to described what happened.... The patch came at the begining of the second season, and I blame it for my bad form
Loaded all the leagues from Mexico, Belgium, England, Hungary, Italy, Holland Portugal, Spain, Ukraine, Argentina; plus Brazil and Germany (second and above).
2007/08
Started with Fenix . Board wanted to avoid relegation with 0 funds; the team had just achieved promotion to the first league. I started by hiring a scout and an Ass.Man, with this dynamic duo, we were able to put together a team. We started well, and managed to finish 11th in the league. However we were highly inconsistent, which was very frustrating. During the mid-season transfer window, I loaned players that gave us enough fuel to stay mid table throughout.
We lost in the first round of the Ukrainian Cup.
During the summer, the team bloated a little, and the main team consisted of about 24 players. I sold a couple of players that had done well for us -increasing the coffers tremendously, making the board think I was an accountant (the team went from a value of 30k to 250k in a year). I felt more confident. We even had a stadium at this point. Then...

Fenix
We won two games in 15 matches. One of them was the Ukrainian Cup first round against an amateur team. I felt devastated, so I did the honorable thing and quit a sinking ship After several weeks of vacation, I realized that the game was only applying to what it considered "higher" teams, meaning top-quality teams. So I had to go through the days manually and apply to anything available - like a horny teenager.
Excelsior (Dutch First Div.) took me in mid December. What a hornet's nest. Players were so upset, they were refusing to sign for the team, or even play well. I managed to bring a plug with the shape of a DC, and goals stopped flowing. But it was not enough, we weren't scoring. After maybe 8 games, I got sacked, the board wanted promotion (delusional they were), and I was taking them in the wrong direction.
Naval (Portuguese Liga Vitalis) decided to give me a chance at the begining of March. They had more ahievable ambitions, challenge for promotion (first two places), and they were nith when I took over. We finished fifth. The summer saw a lot of movement, as I managed to get top quality players for cheap and sell two of my best players for lots of gold. It was a great summer, board was happy. so happy they wanted promotion.

We started off quite nicely, with a 4-1-1 record and ten goals in favor with two against. And then, we hit a draught. Strikers lost their feet, midfielders their compass, and defenders kept **** their pants every time the oposition came charging. By mid december, we were treading water sitting in 12th place. Cups?
Portuguese League Cup, knocked out in the second round.
Portuguese Cup, made it to the third round.
So in another fit. I quit, and was picked up by
Lecco (Italian Serie C2/B)
It was the start of the midseason transfer window, and the team had only 17 players, sitting in (about) 8th place. I stole a couple of players from my previous portuguese team, a DC and a AML (at 7k a head), borrowed a AMC from my parent club, and lit a candle. The small squad geled quite nicely, and we creeped up, to the point that we won the League! In the super cup we were annihilated by the other teams, but at least we achieved promotion.
The board was very stubborn, no wonder the team was already in -600k, plus a 450k loan. I like this team, and will definitely try and stick with it for a second season, but with so much money leaking out, I can already see the board getting testy.

So you DO know where the full stop button is. Use it more frequently, please. The Comma button is usually just to the left of that one, use that one when you need to, as well. The shift button is usually one or two keys to the right of the full stop button. Use that immediately after you've used the full stop button. And for proper nouns, too. Such as "Melfi", "Italy" and "I".
Good luck with that, then. Next lesson is avoiding text speak. Come back when you think you're ready.
