The joy of promotion is short-lived. Whilst on holiday the board decide to expand the stadium plunging the club into the red. Muppets! I can live with the budget cuts because I didn't have any to start with

What I'm upset about is the fact that the board are now angry with me for the financial mess. It's not as if they even texted me whilst I was on the beach.

Is the LMA way to resign or to hang on in there until pushed?

It's up to you. Do you feel you cannot continue with the club because of the financial mess, or do you think there is still a shot at achieiving something with the club.

Realism is the key, Steve. (Oh come on, someone had to make that speelling eroor) I always think if it wasn't FM or LLM, and it was my own personal job which I needed to put food on the table... would I expect work elsewhere if I just told the boss I was walking? In most LLM cases (in fact all so far for me) the answer to that has been no.

But each case on its merits! If you feel its in your career's best interests to jump ship, then go for it. I'd stick out the season at least though, reap what you've sown, so to speak.

2010 - Norwegian 1st Div - Drobak/Frogn

Celebrate promotion by going on holiday with the players. Return to find that the board has put club into financial crisis by adding 2700 seats to our stadium. My ass man forgot to do some contract negotiations so my top striker got poached and both my scouts did a runner! As I wielded the axe before my little beach trip I only have 9 first team players. Some desperate team building sees me scrape some sort of team together. Deadline day sees a big offer come in for my best player. I do the right thing for the club and sell him.

We are hopelessly out-classed and it isn't till our 17th game that we get a win. More players at mid-season raise morale and we put a decent run together. All too little too late tho. Relegated with 2 games to go. On the positive side, we've clawed back the debt, I've learnt form the experience and I'm still in a job
