A chat with the ass man about the existing squad reveals that the defence is carp. My striker nets 5 goals in his second match but then promptly gets crocked for 3 months. Some mid-season transfers, combined with the return of my crocked striker (still top scorer :eek
, gives me hope that we will improve on our current position in mid-table.
Instead, we slide towards the relegation zone. A return to form over the last 4 matches gets us to a respectable mid-table finish.

Defence is still the priority so I sign a goalkeeper and a striker! I can't see us doing much better than last season but to my surprise we start by notching 5 straight wins. My striker is a goal machine who ends up the top scorer in the division with 32.
It's a good season but unfortunately there is only the one promotion spot and the team relegated from division 1 (Sparta Sarpsborg) prove to be unbeatable.
The board give me a new 2 year contract.

I've picked up a quality defender in the close season and I'm satisfied that the team can challenge for the title and promotion. Everything looks rosy after a comfortable opening day victory but a run of inexplicable defeats leaves us in 8th position at the half way stage.
We improve after the mid-season break but are unable to catch up the leading team. The season looks over after Tromso Reserves wrap up the title in the penultimate match. Then I remember from my first season that a reserve team cannot get promoted.
Promotion is all on the last match of the season! A win takes us up!
