Default Fruit of the Lume...

After downloading the latest patch for FM2008, I decided on going back into LLM and posting updates here

Frank originally sent me to Cisco Roma, but I had a look at their team with their 10k all-seater stadium and value at £3.9m, which for some reason seemed so very very wrong, so I went back to Frank yet again and asked for a second opinion! He obliged and sent me to Lumezzane in Serie C2/A!

I've just finished the 2nd season, and have been tearing my hair out because of it. I should be done with the 3rd season later tonight, so I can post my updates! Don't be too hard on me!

Halfway through the third season, and should finish it in an hour or two, so I hope if it's ok if I start posting

I forgot to mention that I am playing with Italy, France, Germany, and Spain, all leagues selected.

Lumezzane, affectionally caled Lume.

Longterm expectations: Establish itself in Serie C2/A by the end of the 2 year plan.

Competitions:

Serie C2/A: Safe midtable finish, but looking at the squad I felt that I could, with a few shrewd signings, put us in the top half. Media predicts 15th, and a relegation battle.

Serie C Cup: Enjoy the experience.

Transfers: 6 players in for a total of £66k

Serie C2/A:

Weird season. Was top of the league after a whopping 4 games, then we had quite the injury crisis with half the first team out, and we went on an 8 game losing streak which put us quite close to the bottom. We turned it around when we beat Varese 2-1 away thanks to a goal in the 92nd minute. We began climbing, and by January we were in a play-off spot. Sadly we still struggled away and had trouble getting a nice string of results together so we moved between midtable obscurity and play-off spots for the rest of the season. When it came to a close, we were 2 points from a play-off spot, needing a win at last-placed Canavese, and needing 5th placed Carpenedolo to lose their last game as well. We played them out of the park and lost 1-0 to a dubious penalty. Canavese moved up to 17th and grabbed a play-out spot instead of relegation. It didn't matter in the end though, since Carpenedolo won 2-1 away.

Finished 7th.

Pld 34: 14-7-13, 50-45 +5, 49 points.

Serie C Cup:

Cups sucked arse in my opinion, but apparently we achieved the goal of enjoying the experience. So the board was quite happy.

3rd in group E.

Pld 4: 1-2-1, 4-4 +0, 5 points.

Highlight of the season: Beating Olbia 6-1 in our final home game of the season, thus sending the fans home with something to smile about.
Lowpoint of the season: Being torn apart 3-0 by Mezzocorona and being extraordinarily lucky that they only managed to knock in 3 of their 28 shots on goal coupled with their 68% possession of the ball.

Team stats:

38 Games played.
54 Goals scored.
49 Goals conceded.
21 Yellow cards.
2 Red cards.

Average Attendance: 1150.

Top Goalscorer: Left winger with 10 goals, and right winger/striker with 10 goals.
Most Assists: Right winger/striker with 9 assists.
Most MoM: Aforementioned left winger with 6 MoM's.

Fans' Player of the Year: Aforementioned left winger.

We won overachievers of the year award! \o/

France beat Sweden 3-0 to win the European Championship.

Season 2008/2009

Longterm expectations: Establish itself in Serie C2/A by the end of the 2 year plan.

Competitions:

Serie C2/A: Upper half of the table. Looking at last season, I could probably push for a promotion spot. Media predicts 9th, with an outside chance of promotion.

Serie C Cup: Enjoy the experience.

Transfers: 9 players in for a total of £50k, 14 players out for a total of £115k.

Serie C2/A:

The beginning was sort of touch and go. We couldn't string anything together, wins, defeats, draws, anything! Totally mediocre, but still, it kept us out relegation too. Then at the beginning of December we went on a 6 game winning streak, and undefeated streak which lasted until the end of January. It saw us occupy 4th and a play-off spot. Sadly February and March were totally pants, and sent us down into mediocrity yet again. The rest of the season was a struggle to reach the last play-off spot. Going into the last game we were tied on points with 5th placed Alto Adige with only 2 goals in their favour separating us. We needed a win at run-away-league-leaders and already promoted Massese, as well as Alto Adige losing away to 8th placed Pro Vercelli. It didn't start well, as we were down 3-1 at halftime due to 2 very dubious penalties. Luckily for us, Alto Adige were losing at Pro Vercelli, so there was still a very tiny sliver of hope. We had an amazing comeback and finished the game 3-3 as we scored in added time! I checked the goal-updates and Alto Adige had lost heavily at Pro Vercelli! So heavily... That Pro Vercelli jumped 3 spots in the league... Snatching 5th place from right under our noses, with the same amount of points as us, and them having a goal-difference that was 1. friggin. moronic. goal, better than ours...

Finished 6th.

Pld 34: 15-7-12, 47-44 +3, 52 points.

Serie C Cup:

It sucked again, but again, we apparently enjoyed the experience.

4th in group C.

Pld 4: 0-3-1, 1-3 -2, 3 points.

Highlight of the season: I can't really think of any. If I have to mention something it would be that our U20 team had walked their league by March, one striker having scored 52 goals in 31 games. At least the future looks bright!
Lowpoint(s) of the season: Losing 5-1 away to Caravaggese with only 5 games left of the season, and 2 points separating us and 5th placed Ivrea, with the goal-difference in our favour. Oh how this result would really bite us in the bum. Also, the chairman decided to sell our star defender and club captain during the January transferwindow because "A bid of £80k is too good to turn down."

Team stats:

38 Games played.
48 Goals scored.
47 Goals conceded.
37 Yellow cards.
1 Red card.

Average attendance: 1007

Top Goalscorer: Midfielder/striker with 18 goals.
Most Assists: Left winger with 13 assists.
Most MoM: Aforementioned midfielder/striker with 4 MoM's.

Fans' Player of the Year: Aforementioned left winger, second season running!

The club is leaking money at a rate of around £100k a month, despite me being well below the wage-cap. Lets see what happens next season!

Sorry about the lack of update. My internet decided to do its best England impression and come crashing down during the night. Luckily it's back up now so I shall post the last update shortly!

Season 2009/2010

Longterm expectations: Finish in a respectable position in Serie C2/A by the end of a 2-year plan. Board is pleased that we accomplished our long-term goals ahead of schedule, and wants it to continue this way.

Competitions:

Serie C2/A: Upper half of the table. With a few signings I could push for promotion, hopefully. Media predicts 7th, and a battle for a play-off spot.

Serie C Cup: Enjoy the experience.

Transfers: 8 players in for a grand total of £1k, including 2 loan signings and a very solid looking striker. 12 players out for £14k

Serie C2/A:

A rampant offense and dreadful defense set the standards for the early parts of the season. Frequent results were 3-3, 4-4, 3-5, and so on. Solid striker was absolutely brilliant, and just kept bangin' them in. Sadly our defense was poop. They probably needed time to get used to eachother. We couldn't string anything together, so around late November we sat in 7th, thankfully still in touch with the top, but sadly also in touch with the bottom of the table. Thankfully it began to pick up in December with a win against league leaders Lecco, and halfway through the season we were in 5th place. Having scored more than any other team, as well as conceded more than any other team... By the end of January we had scored more goals than any previous season, and things were beginning to pick up as we moved up to 3rd in the league. After that, it all turned sour, as our home form was absolutely horrendous. With 4 games to go we had slipped back into 6th, outside a play-off spot. We had some very difficult last games, including Alto Adige, and 1st placed Lecco away from home. Things picked up a bit, and a win away at Alto Adige saw us sit in 5th. Sadly we decided to make it hard on ourselves by losing the following home game against Como. We still held 5th, but there was only 2 points between us and 6th placed Cuneo, and we still had Lecco away... We lost 2-1 to Lecco, but since Cuneo drew we could still take care of business ourselves. The final game of the season awaited. Home to Ivrea. Would it be another season of missed opportunities, or would it finally be a play-off spot at least? Ivrea were crushed 4-0 thanks to a hat-trick from Solid Striker, the last one a cheeky 30 yard chip. And who by scoring that, became the club's all-time leading goalscorer, in his first season.

Finished 5th.

Pld 34: 15-8-11, 65-57 +8, 53 points.

Play-offs.

In the play-off semi-final Pizzighettone awaited. We had lost to them twice during the season, and they were former winners as well, so the prospects didn't look all that nice. A record 4986 people saw us win the first leg 2-1. Sadly we lost the away game 2-0, condemning us to another season in Serie C2/A

Serie C Cup:

I hate cups, but the board didn't, and they thought we enjoyed the experience. I sure didn't! 3 injuries to 3 key players!!!

3rd in group C.

Pld 4: 2-0-2, 8-7 +1, 6 points

Highlight of the season: Crushing Ivrea in the final game, sending us into the play-offs.
Lowpoint of the season: Losing in the play-off semi-final, which truth be told, could've gone either way.

Team stats:

40 Games played.
75 Goals scored.
67 Goals conceded.
34 Yellow cards.
1 Red card.

Average attendance: 1323

Top Goalscorer: Solid Striker with 35 goals.
Most Assists: Left winger with 17 assists.
Most MoM's: Solid Striker.

Fans' Player of the Year: Solid Striker.

Our U20 team walked their league again, same striker as last year scoring 47 goals in 37 games.

I also signed a new 2 year extension to my contract this year. They want a respectable league position within a 2 year plan, I want promotion!
