Why do ALL coaches always ask for their new contract to be 10 times the amount of their current one? Example, Coach X is on £450 a week, so you offer him a new contract, he asks for £4,500! It's stupid! No one would aks for that big a raise, especially when I can easily go out and get one for £1000 a week.
Also sometimes players want massive pay rises too, but this is usually only if you have a lot of money as a club - example, END of last season my max wage was £29,000, and Player X (on £22,000) wanted £35,000 (still a big increase). Beginning of this season I can now offer players up to £60,000 a week and Player X now wants £49,000! It's stupid, and he only wants that much because the club is suddenly richer. This should not affect the player!
For coaches, perhaps they don't want to be coaches any more and would rather be a manager so it would take a huge wage rise to stop them chasing the dream?
coaches do have better reputation so they ask for salary that match their rep. Also, they do not ask much at the beginning when they move from other club or if they were jobless before.
The solution is trying to turn it down. If he asks for 4,500 a week, try offering 2000, sometimes he'd accept it, unlike players that you can't push down much of what they want, generally only 10-15% off from what they ask for.
Coach and scout are on the same trend, I don't think scouts are interested in becoming manager. Yet, they do ask for 5x more salary after a few years.
