I have encountered something quite often lately. The opponent passes the ball back and forth between the midfield full backs and defense. My players stand in the own half and watch.

I want to ask the tactical gurus here how I can get my team to do this kind of back and forth passing? What instructions?

Also I have set closing down for everyone to full, still they don't go and tackle the opponents. Kindly tell me which slider is meant to achieve the desired result?

Try passing short, tempo slow.

as for closing down, its completely screwed up in FM08, everyone will tell you that. If you want to put your slider up full, I would only leave it like this for about 5 minutes or your players will die. Try putting them on tight markig instead.

As far as stopping your opponent from dallying around with the ball in their own half... it's good to set one or two of your attacking players on higher CD. Don't overdue it though and realize they will get tired much quicker.

I wouldn't use it with my target man though. Definitely read some posts in the T&T forum for further insight on this matter, much more in-depth over there!
